Since we've been waiting for the schedule, I noticed back in the boards that almost every year, the months after sasquatch there are threads where everyone recalls their fuzzy memory of this amazing weekend of our lives. This all cascaded in 2013, with some awesome stories of "It was best when", but sadly this never happened for the years I attended '14, '15. Maybe not as many boarders went, or just decided not to share, but this is now the place for your maim-ories, since I know it's been awhile, and these memories are all but dead for some of us. So here's to a couple of mine, a couple of yours, and the new ones that we will share after Squatch '16. 2014: -The discovery of essential ketchups and mustards -Seeing Haim's bass player's (Este) Bassface in real life, and then finding my face involuntarily making the same bass face to Kid Cudi, and Queens of the Stone Age. i2.wp.com/drainage2014.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Haim-2.jpg-When we first learned how to sneak in full water bottle's of vodka by boiling new, sealed caps on. Worked every time! Edit: They will shake your water bottles sometimes, and it bubbles different with alcohol, so always pick a fast moving line. Most of the gate security don't do this but it's become more frequent. (Dec. '16) Edit 2.0: THAT SHIT DONT WORK NO MO’ (Feb. ‘18) -Danny Perez's visual art during Panda Bear's set. 2015: -Missing a couple sets because of a raunchy ass rain/thunderstorm that tore through the camp. Had to stake down our flimsy canopy and put rainfly's on our whole campsite's tents because they didn't think it would rain at the gorge. HAHA. Later found out that it was the storm that Action Bronson summoned during his set. Here is a picture of it after the campsite and when we were running to the venue. imgur.com/p5bI0EA-Watching St. Vincent '15 shred, and create one of the most amazing live soundscapes, to my favorite gorge sunset thus far. I loved at the end of her set she performed a sort of onstage 'death', and then the awareness of the whole stage/amphitheater started honing in on the crowd as Annie laid there motionless, and the cameras panned the whole crowd from bottom to top. The way her set/art was focused on the observer, and the archetypes in duality of reality, made me feel like the whole universe was converging into that microcosm we know as Sasquatch. I had a strong sense of the universe looking in on it's self during that moment, and the subsequent sunset. I sat after the set watching one by one these lenticular-type clouds, gather from behind both sides of the hill, and in a queue ascend over the gorge into the horizon (windmills) to join the set sun. Here are some pictures from my phone immediately after the set, and before the said queue. i.imgur.com/fXfEhhX.pngi.imgur.com/Hk9q5Ch.pngI'm pumped to see the buzz get going for this year! It's been like an extended Winter, waiting and waiting for all the normal stuff that usually happens this time of year. Happy Squatchin'

I can only share memories from the 2014 Sasquatch; I will try not to make this too long or boring. Eager for the unknown, we immediately made friends with camp neighbors while setting up; lent them a tent stake as they were attempting to use a broken beer bottle instead. Lent them a spare cooler as they were attempting to use a plastic tub instead. Soon made friends with additional camp neighbors (Canadians!). To us, those friendships made the whole experience. We used my wife as our 'wine mule' for smuggling.
Never will forget the cool 'kite' we saw floating high above the campground, until it turned out to be somebody's tent. We never had been to the gorge before, and our first impression was coming down into the main amphitheater with the Crystal Fighters playing; made the hairs stand out on the back of my neck. We went for the exposure to new music; pleasant surprises included Crystal Fighters, Shakey Graves, Parquet Courts, Lucius, Black Joe Lewis, the Foals, Banks, and Phantogram. We were blown away by the performances of Cage the Elephant, Die Antwoord, tUnE-yArDs, Kid Cudi, Outkast, and on. So much fun to sing along with the Violent Femmes. 'Meh' performances to me included Major Lazer, Kongos and De La Soul. Great memory of Haim playing in the last light of the setting sun.

I actually "heard" music for the first time during Tame Impala's Yeti Stage set in 2013. Words cannot describe the feeling.
and to the first poster.... witnessing Bronson conjure the storm last year was unreal..."I feel like driving my jeep through a 711" and then he served chicken hahaha
Other Highlights include: Outkast 2014 Washed Out 2014 Kid Cudi 2014 Danny Brown 2013 Edward Sharpe 2013 Odesza 2013 (super early in the tent) Father John Misty 2013 Michael Kiwanuka 2013 (Mumford showed up) Flume 2015 James Blake 2015 Run The Jewels 2015 Jose Gonzales 2015 (Sunset was insane during teardrop)
I could really go on and on though... From the shows to the campsite, the weekend is my favorite of the year.
Honestly each year has been a different Trip for me and had a slightly different vibe, but everyone is full of amazing memories that wouldn't have been possible without the atmosphere of each year. This year will be legendary. Hope to share more at camp! So hyped.
Look for the Burgandy McTiger flag and say hey!

Top memory was meeting my current girlfriend last year at Sasquatch. What began as a wonderful weekend turns 10 months old this week. For reference she is from Washington and I am in Montana, so this festival has a lot of personal meaning to me.
Outside of that I vaguely remember a Sasquatch parade through premier parking that got incredibly out of hand in 2013 (like to the point of almost removing people from the festival) and spending $20 on gummy worms at the frozen yogurt stall last year just to bring them to the merchandise vendors overlooking the Sasquatch stage. I was very drunk, and unfortunately I couldn't buy the gummy worms at a discounted price. The following day they all filled me in on my antics, and we had a good laugh.

That sounds like Sasquatch. Looks like we are 30 days out!!!! We had a good friend of ours break an ankle the week before Sasquatch and he was determined to go and we put more and more booze in his scooter basket until the last day wine bags were practically falling out. Haha, they don't bother anyone in a scooter. Ahhh one of my favorite things after seeing it the first time was seeing other people's faces/reactions when they reached the crest of that hill. I watch them like this: link

One of my favorite drunken vague memories was after the 1st or 2nd night of last year. We got back to the campsite and proceeded to get pitted dude, and I fell asleep next to the propane fireplace and we had a nice soft rug underneath it. I felt so nice and warm and woke up in the morning feeling amazing. Little did I know that the heat melted some plastic button bullshit for a pocket on my shorts and I found a lil plastic post-molten burned into my skin; alas it was not too bad, I poured some booze on it and it healed fast.

2015 Sasquatch was my first, going again this year. Sorry if this gets long, I'm high and bored. Highlights from last year:
Action Bronson: I was, and remain a pretty fairweather Action fan, but holy shit was that an amazing show. It was one of the best moments of my life see him just go in hard and angry while summoning a storm. He just kept going harder and pieces of the stage were breaking and he wouldn't quit. They pulled down the screens. He gave out weed. What a legendary show.
Gogol Bordello: Been of fan of theirs since high school, but left early to go to Action. So much fucking energy. We were moshing in the pit front and center. Granted, it's a festival so the pit only gets so intense, but damn was that fun. I've never seen someone play a violin with such anger, nor have I seen someone drink an entire liter of whisky faster.
Dilated Peoples: Only listened to like four of their songs before Squatch, but my homie was a huge fan, so we went. Pretty tame show, until they brought some fan on to rap some random non-single from one of the MCs solo albums. Like, a deep track from 2002. And the kid gets it perfect. I've never seen fan take on some random verse from that long ago from such a small artist like that. So amazing.
Robert Plant: Ten feet from the stage. Enough said.
Schoolboy Q: Although he didn't play Perscription Drugs like I wanted, it was still a hell of a show. Man do I love Oxymoron.
Run the Jewels: Seeing that I'd have to leave RTJ early to get a good spot at kendrick when the schedule came out absolutely gutted me. My absolute top two bands of the fest. I knew what had to happen, and I was OK with leaving RTJ early to see Kendrick. I mean, TBAP was my favorite album of the year, and he was going to play stuff from that right? RIGHT? UGH. I'm over it. But anyway, RTJ aboslutely killed, even with Killer Mike in a sling. Such a hyped crowd.

One of my fav maimories was waking up to Outkast's sound check on a beautiful morning.
Another was the smell of a campsite on the corner that was selling delicious $3 breakfast burritos.

I also have only a year's worth of memories, but they're real good (in my opinion).
This was my intro to the fest: we arrived Thursday afternoon, set up our tent, and met our two Canadian neighbors, who immediately started drinking (we did too, but that's less important). At about 3am I was woken up by someone falling on my tent and onto me. At some point later in the night/earlier in the morning I woke up again to someone frantically slurring "have you seen my buddy?" I got up in the morning to find only one of my neighbors, sitting on top of his car and looking around the campground for his missing "buddy," who did eventually make it back with his face covered in massive scratches and a lot of dirt. He had apparently woken up facedown on the complete other side of the campground with no memory of getting there. I offered him a baby wipe and we became best friends for the duration of the festival. I even gave him the remains of my fifth of Admiral Nelson's when I left, which in hindsight may have been a mistake.
I will never, ever forget when I first walked over the hill and saw the stage at the bottom of that giant hill. It was my first time at the Gorge, too, and while I had spent quite a bit of time looking at pictures in anticipation, nothing could have prepared me for the sheer size and glory of that place. It's seriously otherworldly. I have had many dreams where I relived that same first moment.
I wasn't really even into EDM at the time, but the Flume set changed my life. For real.
One of the most wonderful moments of the weekend was when the entire hill stood up and danced during Chromeo's "Come Alive." That was pure & unadulterated bliss for me. Then again, so was the whole weekend.
There was also the time when I was sitting in the grass at the Yeti during Woods & suddenly started seeing different colored auras around people and two giant rainbow orbs rotating in the sky. That was a little jarring, since I hadn't intentionally taken any psychedelics. I still haven't figured out what exactly happened there. But it was pretty cool.
Honestly, I wasn't nearly as into last year's lineup as I am with this year's, so my expectations are pretty high for this one. I will miss the rowdy Canadians up in premier camping, but my friends' neighbors were a bit less amusing than mine, so I had to give in.

It didn't rain, and I couldn't move a muscle without sweating. If I could redo this day I would dress lighter and dance my pants clean off. Their set was a gem, but I don't think there was any question if it would be.

Thought I was catching a pretty good tan but the Gorge dust gives everyone the hilarious illusion that they are a little bit more tan than they are until you wash (baby wipes) it off.

I'm a showering elitist. You know good and well that sleeping past 9 at the Gorge is damn near impossible, and I love me a nice lukewarm shower while I drink my beers in the morning. It's incredibly underrated, and I will never change my love of showering at Sasquatch. There I said it.

I've haven't used the showers at the gorge (not since warped tour 2007). I actually really like a very cold shower. I bring those 2 gallon water bottles with the nice plastic handle and I keep those in my cooler and shower everyday at 10AM after a plethora of breakfast and beer.

. I actually really like a very cold shower. I bring those 2 gallon water bottles with the nice plastic handle and I keep those in my cooler and shower everyday at 10AM after a plethora of breakfast and beer. Oh I'm also a premier pleb too. They installed dedicated showers in 2014. Actually I took freezing showers two days last year because half of them had the hot water heater for it broken, and I am a convert to cool showers. When your tender skin stings from the sun and you're battered from your bad decisions the day before it's like being born anew. Showers are incredibly underrated at a festival in my honest opinion. You've got the time and they always make my hangover feel like a non issue. In fact I bring my portable speaker to the showers as they're an individual basis, 3 beers, and I pre game my Sasquatch by queueing artists that I'll see that day to play while I shower. Incredibly underrated, you can keep your baby wipes.
