Haha I really like that his sleeve tattoo didn't seem to exist until only recently. Old dude tattoo. Rad.

When I saw them back in 92 they did an amazing extended version of The Forest.

Here's a clip of some classic 1982 Cure. Pre goth. Some good tunes.

First set list of the tour from last night:
Open alt.end All I Want (First performance since 1987) Push In Between Days From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea Step Into the Light (new song; live debut) Sleep When I'm Dead A Letter to Elise (First performance since 2008) High The Walk Lovesong Just Like Heaven Trust Want The Hanging Garden One Hundred Years End
Encore: At Night (First performance since 2011) M Play for Today A Forest
Encore 2: Dressing Up Piggy in the Mirror Shake Dog Shake Give Me It
Encore 3: Burn
Encore 4: It Can Never Be the Same (new song; live debut)
Not going to lie, if this is the set list we get at Sasquatch I'm going to be pretty let down. This will be my first time ever seeing them, so admittedly I'm hoping to see more of the hits. A Cure show without Fascination Street and Close to Me just bums me out thinking about it. Maybe they'll have a more festival-geared set list for Sasquatch? I know they mix it up like crazy throughout tours.

I think the Sasquatch set list will have more of a "greatest hits" type vibe though. Traditionally the opening night of their tours are usually filled with a lot of rarities. I'm curious to see if they will have many repeats from last night.

Thanks for the heads up! Most big names tend to bring out the hits for festivals since the crowd is less captive, so I'm not too worried about it. I know it'll be a killer set regardless.

You know, after skimming through that list, I realized just how many Cure songs I simply don't know the titles to. There is some great stuff in there! Only one track from Disintegration though? Oof...

I just hope they play it earlier in the set. I'm probably going to end up leaving their set early to catch most of Big Grams and if I find out they played Burn after I left, I will be very sad.

That was the second time Burn (The Crow soundtrack) has ever been played live too. First appearance was at the 2013 Voodoo Fest. I'd love to see it at The Gorge! Sorry for the weird spacing and poor sound/video quality. Best I could find right now.

Thanks Pea for the setlist. I have separate playlists for each day with bands i'll be seeing. I mainly have the artist's discography if it isn't too big but with The Cure I didn't know where to start. This will definitely help out.

Disintegration was my starting point with The Cure, which I think it a pretty logical place to begin. After that I'd recommend The Head on the Door, followed by either Wish or Pornography.

Staring at the Sea, the Singles 1979 - 1985 is another good place to start. See the bio on the top post for a link to listen to.

I mainly have the artist's discography if it isn't too big but with The Cure I didn't know where to start. This will definitely help out. Speaking as someone who was in pretty much the same boat you are, Disintegration is definitely the gateway drug. I remember it as being the tape everyone but me had when I was growing up, but I never really got into it until this year. But once I started listening to it, I couldn't stop. I'm still not as familiar as some others with their whole discography (it's friggin yuuuge), but Wish and Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me are two others I highly recommend. Also, the Crow soundtrack because of Burn (among many other great songs by other bands).

Considering the point in their discography it was released, The Head on the Door is surprisingly catchy as fuck. Have you listened to that one yet, Pancakes? So many great songs on that one.
