I hear that Florence lady is pretty good too. I can't get into Florence. I try and I just can't do it. My friends say I will dig her live set but I won't be seeing it unless nothing is going on at other stages that I care about. If you don't like her music I can't see her live show changing your mind. I love her music, and I think her live show is excellent. That being said, if I didn't love her music her show would just be a British girl running around the stage singing while her pretty good band plays the songs. There's nothing amazing about her show, but I like her songs and I love her energy when she sings them. (also this time I will be able to move away from the terrible people, unlike last time I saw her in a seated venue)

Damn Davers. That is the worst when you are stuck next to people like that for a show you are super excited for. I am going to keep giving her listens to see if it clicks for me before the festival. I am pretty sure my group will be at her show.

Not trying to do that at all dude! I absolutely will always love Sasquatch, and wouldn't ever want to deter someone from attending. Just trying to explain and further understand some of the complaints that people have been expressing this year. I'm cool. It will probably be my only festival this summer, so I am always worried I'll be missing out on something better. I do love the lineup and the Gorge enough to stay interested. Like I said earlier the close proximity helps with time off work and travel expenses. The fact that a lot of the kids are bitching about the lineup makes me hope the crowd might be a tad older this year which would be welcome from me. I'm not trying to put anyone off it either, I'm just saying that it probably won't sell out again this year and I was offering reasons why I think that. The main one being price. You can't go from $315 including camping to $350 + camping in two years without any marked improvements. If we assume 3 people per car (that's what I generally get into mine anyway) then the price has gone up $85, or 27%, for no real reason other than Live Nation thinks people will pay it. I think they're wrong. Coachella has been raising their prices by less than that and it still sells out within an hour, so clearly they know what they are doing. Bottom line, Live Nation got greedy.

Damn Davers. That is the worst when you are stuck next to people like that for a show you are super excited for. The worst. Two girls beside me high out of their trees were talking over one of their friends (who was trying to watch the show) the whole time and hardly looked at the stage. A group in front of us basically stood the whole time even though the entire section was sitting. I get that she's a huge pop star and stuff, but it was pretty brutal. I am very excited for redemption though because the show was excellent when I was able to ignore the crowd.

Yeah, but it's definitely going to affect their bottom line. (And this whole conversation has been in american dollars.) I don't see the harm in discussing the problems with Sasquatch, loving it doesn't mean you give it a free pass on everything. That's why I made the sorry canadians comment. I guess I just have yet to find any reason to prevent me from not going to Sas, or to even complain about it. I'm a minority there, clearly. But many of these concerns are legitimate beyond the exchange rate. This is coming from a fan who has experienced Sasquatch from the very beginning up til now, having only missed 2006 and 2012. I FUCKING LOVE SASQUATCH FOREVER AND ALWAYS! But constructive criticism is part of caring. God forbid we have another Sasquatch Weekend 2 scenario, that would be the straw that breaks Sasquatch's back forever. The festival has to figure out how to make more money [sell more tickets] but increasing the price every year isn't always the solution to that (the last 2 years being evidence of that). If I were a festival organizer, I would consider my attendees the expert and try to put their feedback to good use for the betterment and survival of my festival in an increasingly saturated market.

Fewer people have addd The Cure to their custom line-ups than have added Florence + The Machine, Disclosure, Alabama Shakes, M83, or Major Lazer.

I guess I just have yet to find any reason to prevent me from not going to Sas, or to even complain about it. I'm a minority there, clearly. Dude, this group is Sasquatch. We are the hugest Sasquatch fans, we talk about it all the time. It is why we all know each other. It is why, just two years ago, we had a caravan of over 20 cars just in our group. It is unfair to act like we are like the people on the FB page bitching about it. The prices have skyrocketed for no ascertainable reason, and that is that. Live Nation is most certainly taking advantage of people and there is nothing wrong with saying that. Constructive criticism is not the same as complaining. People aren't just saying, "meh Sasquatch sucks," they are raising legitimate concerns. That said, most people here will be attending. So please do not act like a person cannot love Sasquatch while still pointing out the issues that it has.

PS I saw Ty Segall on Thursday. He rocked and rolled and howled and all of the good stuff. 6 dudes on stage. No more spoils, but suffice to say Ty bear hugged a dude who climbed up on stage and then dove/b(e)arrel rolled out into the crowd while holding the dude. \m/

PPS I have decided my motto for Sasquatch 2016 is going to be: "Four Tet rage with me 'n' Fras".

So, as of last night Young Fathers had a date at Neumos on their website (4/18), and now it is not there. No ticket link on the Neumos site. Could be our first major add? I would be psyched. www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2016/01/young_fathers_a.htmlwww.young-fathers.com/edit: as per that same link, they are in Liverpool on Sat... so maybe not. edit again: though they would be a great addition to Fri, and airplanes exist. so I'm holding out hope.

That's pretty interesting. It makes perfect sense for them to tour the west coast around Coachella, so I never even considered them for Sasquatch. They would definitely be an addition I'd be excited about!
EDIT: Derp. Lord Potassium dropping knowledge.
