That's the best Bumbershoot lineup I've seen for a while. I think I may actually go back this year.

Man Ben Harper went from headlining bigger festivals to 4th on his day at Bumbershoot. How the mighty have fallen.
Pretty solid for Bumbershoot. I can't tell if I just have lower expectations by now or later in the year festivals are actually doing better.

Ok yeah I'll probably go for the first two days. Pretty solid.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, because that lineup is garbage, especially for $65 per day. At $40 you might have me. Maybe.

Monday is weaker... But 3 day passes are almost the same amount as 2 singles. I'll go Monday if only for Devotchka.

How does this festival work? Is there multiple venues and stages? I'm going to try to talk the Mrs. into flying to Seattle for the Sunday lineup, but I would be pissed if I got there and found out that all of the bands were spread across the city. I'm particularly interested in Faith No More, Social D, The Melvins, Mikal Cronin, Brand New and Constants Lovers. I would probably be able to get this going if I could confirm that we could see all of these artists, especially for $65.

It's all in seattle center. There are stages on the lawns and in the surrounding buildings. Very walkable. You just have to get in line early for indoor shows because of capacity.

I swore if I ever went back I would get VIP, because I got stuck in line a couple times. The one year I went, it was a pain in the ass to plan on seeing a headliner in the Key Arena. This year they are going to run Memorial Stadium and KeyArena, so that might thin out the crowds a little.

Brand New was great at Coachella. Pea used all his inflatables for them lol

I don't know why I'm surprised you're not a big Brand New fan but I am for some reason. When I was 15 I went straight from punk (a la Dead Kennedys and Crass) to stupid hipster bullshit (a la Malkmus & the Jicks and Sonic Youth), and ended up skipping the mid-00s "alternative rock"/emo boom in general. The only album of theirs I ever gave a shot was The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me and that was waaaay later, and it never really clicked.

Waste of inflatables, unfortunately. There just wasn't any dancey daytime music that last day. Brand New was definitely great though!

So we are highly considering this now. My main concern is that I have read that your single day pass doesn't get you into the Key Arena shows, which is where Faith No More will probably be.
Is this true?

Is this true? Last time they did this they made us wait in a line for separate (free) tickets to the nighttime Key Arena shows day-of-fest, and it was first come, first serve.

Brand New is probably one of my favorite live bands. Can't wait to see em again.

Sunday is pretty awesome for all the reasons Blacksmile said + Lee Perry. Makes me wish I hadn't just shelled out $60 to see Faith No More. The problem is that Bumbershoot has a lot of stages and there is no way we will be able to see all these bands without schedule conflicts.
