20 acts for Friday? That's a bit above average right? I don't think there are going to be many other adds. Bummed that no Ratatat is there. Especially since Adam Zacks hinted at them a few times on twitter.

I heard Ratatat declined the invite after hearing Sleater-Kinney was headlining.

so is the consensus on here that Slater Kinney will for sure headline? It seems likely they will, but that post about the sasquatch announcement not using the word headline has me greedily hopeful for one more...

To label Sleater-Kinney as a headliner would be to admit that they released the lineup without one and I think they're reluctant to admit that. I think they fit perfectly as a headliner, but if Zacks & Co can find a way to top them, well that's just gravy. Either way, I'm satisfied. 20 acts on Friday seems pretty full now (by comparison, 2013 had 18 on Friday). I could see possibly another comedy act or two, but otherwise, barring cancellations, I think we've seen most all of the adds we're getting.

Unless next year has a crazy good line up I'm not going. In what fucking world are Sasquatch festival goers upset that Sleater-FUCKING-Kinney is not a good add. This fucking asshole saying Of Monsters and Men is better than S-K was the last straw. I'm fucking out after this. This asshole was on facebook. You gotta stay away from that poison man. It's bad for the heart and soul(if you believe in that kind of thing).

I still believe "& More" is going to be a game changer. Game changer confirmed. Suck it. Also, fuck Dan Parkhurst. That guy's a moron.

I responded to him and he's just like "MAN I JUST WANT LARGE CROWDS I FEED OFF THE ENEREGY" Aka he just gets really high on MDMA and tries to rub up against women and doesn't go for the music. I want a music festival that's fucking about the music festival first and foremost again.

Damn, that's the worst kind of festival goer new market for festivalbroers. Damn, that sounds like 80+% of the people that go to Coachella, which is why I refuse to go.

Damn, that sounds like 80+% of the people that go to Coachella, which is why I refuse to go. My perception of Coachella is the same, but it is only based on my pre-conceived notions since I refuse to attend. Coachella is super fun. Like all festivals, it is what you and your crew of people make of it. If you'll let bros and feathered headdresses ruin your experience you should probably stay home forever. This comment applies to everyone.

But sidenote I've been open for a long time about how I can't stand certain atmospheres are music festivals and the creeping ever growing broization and destruction of the music aspect of music festivals is seriously dampening my buzz about them.

I love Sleater-Kinney. They will probably be my most anticipated act of the weekend. But I wonder how many wristbands Sasquatch has sold since yesterday afternoon. 100?

Seriously, festival culture has changed a LOT in the past 8-10 years, and not for the better.

Some of the major ones have changed, but last year I experienced two of the best festival crowds I have ever seen (Tall Tree and Pemberton) so there are still good people out there, they have just moved on. I'm pretty sure the change in crowds has more to do with the fact we are all getting older rather than the crowds actually changing.
Oh and side note Coachella was awesome last year and the year before. Sure there are terrible people that attend but I found many a group of awesome people all by myself at the right shows. If you refuse to do Coachella because of what you think it is you are missing out on one of the most impressive music festivals in the world in terms of line up (this year kind of blows though) production (some of the art is hands down amazing) and overall organization (there's 90,000 people there and it hardly feels crowded most of the time).

So uh, theoretically, if a man were to go about getting into Sleater Kinney, what might be a good place to start?
