Going to Sasquatch this year and I'm wondering if someone could tell me about the View Bar as I haven't been able to find any information on it.
I ask because I am a big soccer fan and was wondering if they have TV's where they could show the UEFA Champion's League final?
It's on Saturday May 24th at 11:45 am so I imagine at least some people would be willing to watch it since there is nothing really going on at that time.
If anyone else has any alternatives for watching the match on site or in the campgrounds I would be glad to hear them!

If the BCers made it through when the Canucks were in the playoffs you can make it without a game of football. Why on earth would you go to a music festival and watch something that literally has no impact on your life at that very moment while you're surrounded by wonderful music and a great view.

There's a huge difference. The canucks game actually interfered with the bands and is part of a best of 7 series. This soccer match is a best of one final that starts in the morning when nobody is playing and only interferes with half a set of a band. Not to mention the fact that I cheer for one of the teams and used to play in one of their schools.

I don't know of anyone here who has ever spent any time at Sasquatch watching a television, because it makes no sense.
I'm waging you will survive if you have to wait 2 days to figure out the score of your game.

To be fair, I don't think I missed a single second of any Canucks games while at Sasquatch.

I don't get how some of you gladly accept a newb who over-posts about mindless shit, yet feels the need to shit talk a newb who types like an adult and happens to like sports. Do you really think seeing HAIM for the fuckteenth time is more important than seeing your favorite team play for the championship? Fuck that.
Machomansaccountant, I've never seen a TV at Sasquatch, and this is my tenth year. I've never done VIP, and some here have, but I doubt they were sober enough to remember a TV. I get no internet at Sasquatch, but I do have somewhat regular text access. In my opinion, you're fucked, unless someone is texting you the score.
It's technically against the rules to leave the campground and be allowed back in. That is your best bet. Find a bar in a city near the amphitheater, call them to make sure they'll have your game, then roll out and back in when the game ends. Like you said, Euro soccer matches happen early, so you won't miss anything, assuming you can get back in.

Canucks won the western finals in 5 so they were done before I rolled out to Sasquatch and the final didn't start until I got back. It was a Sasquatch miracle that it worked out that way.

Posting the truth is shit talking now? Depends on how you define "truth." If you want to fuck with me, I'm game. You're out of your league though. Start popping the corn all.

I have a feeling it's just thousands of Canadians getting text updates from non Sasquatch attendees, and yelling out what they hear. EDIT EDIT: Daver is a bigger pile than I originally expected. Nice work. Thanks for the understanding! I don't get the uproar about watching a game at 11 in the morning. Yeah I figured I'm pretty much fucked unless I can get a half decent am/fm reception.

I don't want to fuck with anyone. It's just a matter of perspective to some but from a subjective point of view I think my statement wins out. For me, deciding to monitor anything outside of a camping/non-city music festival is an exercise in futility. You either will have to put in extra effort, planning, or dedicate time commitments to work out a means to watch a game/event/match etc. You're taking away from the experience you should have when you tune in, turn on, drop out, to one fettered with commitments to outside events that just do not matter in that moment. Go with the flow, drop what you brought at the edge of the campground and pick it up when you leave.

Seeing any game is dolphinately better than HAIM, but it ain't going to happen. Just being honest, my dude. Reception of signals at the Gorge is notoriously the fucking worst.

I'm a Verizon customer and I've gotten pretty good service at the Gorge the past few years. I haven't like sat down and tried to stream video or anything, but email, social media, etc works fine. I think I got 4G last summer. I'm pretty sure Verizon has the service at the Gorge locked up, and I always thought it was because they sponsor and advertize at many of the shows.

We had the VIP lounge access tickets last year; those grant you access to a gated area that has a cliffside view as well as a structure with a bar that has televisions in it. We went in there a couple of times, and there were a bunch of people watching some basketball game or other. So if there is some notable sporting event taking place, and if it is worth it to you to pay nearly twice as much for wristbands that will allow you to watch the game instead of the bands you paid to see, then that is an option.

...an option for stupid people.
Every fucking year, I swear to god.

So following a sporting event, even if it's a team you've followed all your life, doesn't make sense at Sasquatch, only because you don't like sports?

When I went to Bonnaroo in 2010 they had the World Cup matches showing on the stages in the morning. It was awesome. The crowd for the US vs England game was insane. The guys from Mumford and Sons were wasted in the crowd chirping the Americans. Good times.
If the Flames made the finals(ha!) you bet your ass I would find a way to watch it.

And there is nothing better (for me) than high fiving a bunch of fellow Sounders fans when they win their Saturday match that usually takes place during Sasquatch.
