It's not about post count. At all. It's about taking the time to consider the possibilities. There is a possibility that this guy is a narc, or a mase50, or some other kind of malefactor. There's no reason to think he is, there's no reason to think he's not. It sucks to have to be the guy who thinks about these things, but someone had better because I'd rather be unpopular on the internet for two hours than see one of you guys get thrown in prison or raped. You can thank me later. Or not, whatever. Considering the contents of most of our pockets/satchels/backpacks/etc. at any given moment at Sasquatch, I'm not taking any chances.
Yeah, gonna have to side with the Sasquatch bro on this one. He's been posting for a few weeks now and just seems like he wants to participate in our small community. What's wrong with that exactly? All of us were in the same position at one point, so why is this guy suddenly a "narc" for wanting to hang out with us?
As for hiding the picture thread, I actually remember finding that thread on my very first day here. I think it was actually one of the first threads I clicked on. What's the point in hiding the thread when it's been readily available for every lurker and noob for the past few years?

Now when you put it that way, I totally understand where you're coming from. You are just a bit overbearing (and incredibly abrasive) about it. I promise I'm not any of what you've mentioned here. I'm just a regular ass dude from Portland. I've been to Sasquatch four times before and plan on going (maybe not every year) for the foreseeable future.
Again, sorry to offend you and your board (even though it seems like you lost them on this thread).
If you don't want a bunch of lurkers lurking around a board meet in a public place, don't publicly advertise a board meet. I assume there is still a private facebook group. Talk about it there rather than in a public forum. If not everybody is in that group, there is a message feature on this board.
If someone is posting here almost 2 months prior to the festival, looking for friends, they'll likely try to build a rapport in that time.

TO ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY WANT TO MEET UP: I am not as weird as HG has framed me to be. Sasquatch is an annual thing that my friends from college and I all go to (since we live scattered across the country now). I also live a relatively run-of-the-mill life, so Sasquatch weekend is my one weekend to completely disconnect from work, girlfriend, family, etc..
If this sounds fun to you, I promise you we'll get along
