This year is my first sasquatch and I'm honestly pretty bummed as I was stoked to go but none of my friends wanted to go/had time so ended up asking the ex. Not gonna lie, not looking forward to that but still keeping fingers crossed. Rookie question but what's the atmosphere like there and how easy is it to make friends at the festival?
Thanks!

The atmosphere is very laid back and awesome, and it's very easy to make new friends with just about anybody you talk to. Don't you even worry about those things.

You asked your ex-boyfriend to go to a festival with you? Maybe not the best idea.

You asked your ex-boyfriend to go to a festival with you? Maybe not the best idea. I'll vouch for this. Actually went to Sasquatch '11 with a gf and broke up with her not long after because she got on my nerves so much.

Bad times with girlfriends at Sasquatch crew checking in. Also some pretty great times. But also bad times.

My boyfriend and I don't even drive there together to avoid the bad times. Good luck.

A couple we went with last year broke up on the car ride to the festival. That was good times.
I'm doing my first couple-squatch this year. I'm looking forward to it!

My best friend broke up with her boyfriend the first night of Sasquatch '10. I feel lucky that I've never had such issues in my many years of festicalling with the soon-to-be wife. Probably why I'm marrying her.

Haha it wasn't the best idea but I figured since we were friends and absolutely nobody else wanted to come along.. just didn't realize that we had so little in common was all. It's going to be a quieeeeet car ride fersure.

Holy shit I'm so excited for my first single-squatch. Like...I haven't even processed how excited I am.
Oops, sorry amiierrrrrrrrrarwacle, this has nothing to do with your question. I recommend books on tape for the car ride, they are a miracle worker for awkward road trips.

I personally recommend 50 Shades of Grey read by Gilbert Gottfried.

I've been single at each Sasquatch, oops. This is my first year I'm not single and unfortunately I lost my job so I can't get a ticket for my girlfriend.

My girlfriend gets mad because I like to high tail it from stage to stage, and she also hates honey buckets, so sometimes it can be a bummer.

Assuming I can go this year, it'll be my first singlesquatch in 3 years! I'm really looking forward to single festival season, it's going to be a much different experience than doing the couple thing.

Just to counter all the bad things people are saying, I've been to 4 Sasquatches and 2 Squamishes with various girlfriends and never really had a problem. Make sure you don't spend every waking moment together, see some different shows... blah blah.
If people break up at Sasquatch they were probably going to anyway. It's like a relationship time machine. People I have spent a total of 6 days with at Sasquatch feel like super old friends, so if you're relationship and it might be over soon, Sasquatch will probably make that pretty obvious.

Davers is right. Some of you chucklehuts I've only been around a total of like 5 days.

COUPLESQUATCH!
It'll be my wife's first multi-day fest, and we're bringing our couple friends. Only one of them has been to a big fest like this too.
Definitely going to be walking backwards over the hill to see their reaction to the mainstage & view.

I've never heard a music festival described that way Davers. That's exactly right. I'm a bit relieved now because my gf was going to go to Julysquatch but can't make it to May (phew). Happy about that because I actually like her a lot.

My boyfriend and I don't even drive there together to avoid the bad times. Good luck. You need a new boyfriend. I'm doing my first couple-squatch this year. I'm looking forward to it! Womp never arrived at festivals with a chick, but always left with one.
