I'm not going to put any stock in these rumors but it's not impossible. It's early enough that this might make economic sense to stem their losses (assuming ticket sales are that bad).

There is no way July is getting cancelled.
I thought the two weekend thing was stupid from the beginning. I was shocked how well they did with the lineups, but even then they still didn't sell out either weekend. I'm not surprised in the least that July is selling worse, since like it or not, none of the headliners have been relevant this millennium.
I definitely think that they would go for a huge add or two rather than scrap the weekend. They'd also probably do better to just put it on at a loss, since most festivals lose money their first couple years.
Honestly I'm pretty excited to party at a half empty gorge with a whole lot less teeny boppers than normal.

I would say it's extremely unlikely that they cancel July but it would not be unheard of. I'm not going to pretend to know the logistics of Sasquatch's money situation but there is certainly a point where it doesn't make economic sense to hold the festival. This isn't some show in a bar where it's no big deal if the place is half full. This is an event that involves millions of dollars.
I think ticket sales would have to be catastrophically low to justify it (below 5,000 or something) but saying it would never happen is incorrect.

I can guarantee that to break the contract with most of the headliners would probably be far worse for Sasquatch then only selling half the tickets.

I'm starting a rumor that Julysquatch is expanding to two weekends with one weekend of Kraftwerk and one with everyone else.

My mom's cousin's sister's nephew who headlines a German Electro-Polka-Schlager gruppe confirmed to me that July is expanding to 6 weekends with only German bands making up the Kraftwerk weekend.
David Hasselhof will be performing a late night set.

I promise you that every single Sasquatch contract has cancellation terms written into it. I'm sure the bigger acts get nice cancellation fees but they're going to be significantly smaller than their performance fee.

I hate entertaining the idea of losing the 2nd weekend, but how would refunds work for the dual weekend passes? Would they give back $275? Or give back $225 and say suck it you now have purchased a single weekend pass at $325? Because that would be balls.
Regardless I still don't see it happening, but I'm on the bus and bored.

They hold onto it and put it towards your pre sale for next year.
