Awesome weekend yall. What was with the awful sound for The National though? Really brought down the set for me. I didn't think it was bad at all. Where were you for it? I was on the hill at first, but had to move up because I couldn't hear anything except for the booming vocals. Still couldn't hear much as I got closer. And did anyone notice that none of the headliners played an encore? That's not usually the case, is it?

I got set lists from both The National and QOSTA and the both skipped songs that were supposed to be played. Not to mention that Queens left the stage 20 minutes early and still left a song or two off, one of which was Faireweather Friends dammit. But my God, they were amazing!

May have sounded better to me than it was because I had never seen them before and they are one of my favourite bands. I got set lists from both The National and QOSTA and the both skipped songs that were supposed to be played. Not to mention that Queens left the stage 20 minutes early and still left a song or two off, one of which was Faireweather Friends dammit. But my God, they were amazing! Aw man Fairweather Friends is so awesome. That's too bad. What did the National skip? They played for pretty much their entire time slot but I know sometimes headliners stick around a bit longer than scheduled so they could have squeezed some more in.

And did anyone notice that none of the headliners played an encore? That's not usually the case, is it? I did notice that and thought it unusual. I felt like QTOSA had planned on paying an encore, but the crowd wasn't into it. The floor was almost empty by the time they started breaking down the stage. Instead of bringing up the house lights, they kept flashing the stage lights, which is the universal sign for "get wild", but none of the kids in the audience caught on.

I was in the front row for the National and Matt Berninger used my hand to support himself when he was standing on the guard rail. I almost swooned!

I thought right after QOTSA left stage they started playing other music, which is the international sign for "the band is gone, go home" but I could be mistaken. Also, where the fuck were you all weekend? I had your mix CD to give you. Now I have to ship it like a chump. Also also, I thought the National sounded great from the floor. 3x also, I hope to fuck they move Sasquatch back to Saturday, Sunday, Monday next year so we don't have to battle the Memorial Day traffic heading back to Seattle. The traffic was insane, by far the worst I've seen in 6 drives. That was fantastic everyone. Now I need to sleep all the sleeps.

The lack of encores was definitely noticed. I was really looking forward to fair weather friends too. Sound for a The National was great on the left terrace area just below the path.

This is how my weekend went:
Friday: Iska Dhaaf -> Kithkin -> Lia...De La Soul --> lounged on the hill while Cage The Elephant/Naked And Famous played --> went down to the front for Foals --> Phantogram --> Mogwai --> Outkast --> Die Antwoord
Saturday: New Lungs --> Augustines --> Hobosexual --> The Dodos --> First Aid Kit --> Sol --> Deafheaven --> Sandrider
Sunday: Tacocat --> Brody Dalle --> Tune-Yards --> Black Joe Lewis --> Elbow --> The Flavr Blue --> Haim --> Rodriguez --> Queens Of The Stone Age --> Major Lazer
My favorites sets were Sandrider, Queens Of The Stone Age, Deafheaven, Foals, Mogwai, Outkast, New Lungs and Tacocat. Eric Andre was right in the pit for Deafheaven. He was going nuts. Sandrider was fucking excellent and I got to meet BlackSmile so that was radical. I have bruises all up my torso from getting slammed into the front of the Narwhal stage. Outkast was so much fun. Hit after hit after hit. QOTSA sounded great but I echo the disappointment with how short it was. Jon Theodore sure can drum though...holy shit. I never saw him play with The Mars Volta live so that was pretty amazing.
Biggest let down was Liars. God damned liars.

The traffic was insane, by far the worst I've seen in 6 drives. I didn't think traffic was that bad coming back. I also left the campsite at 8am. Why does no one take the right lane in Washington? Are they strictly for trucks?

Driving back to Nevada was smooth sailing for us, but the other lanes going North looked brutally long.
Great weekend though. Banks, Sol, Tycho, and De La Soul were all really good surprises. They all brought the party and got the crowd really amped. Gessafelstein was a let down though. Maybe I just hyped it up too much in my mind, but it wasn't as intense or dark as I was expecting.
Boys Noize, Outkast, MIA, Kid Cudi, and Foster the People were my favorite sets of the weekend. Geez... talk about gorgeous weather too.

Hey guys I gave Eric Andre corn cchips. Sasquatch has come full circle. Ha, I watched him buy corn chips on Sunday and then complain because the kid didn't want to give it to him for free.

Gesaffelstein started off slow with a few meh songs, but really turned it up 6 or 7 notches by the end of his set. He was in my top 3 for sure. So intense, so good.

Also, where the fuck were you all weekend? I was all over the place. What my weekend looked like: Crystal Fighters -> De La Soul -> Cage the Elephant -> Chance the Rapper -> Princess -> Foals -> Classixx -> Mogwai -> Outkast -> Die Antwoord Bright Light Social Hour / Deap Vally -> Hobosexual -> Eric Andre -> Sol -> Violent Femmes -> Deafheaven -> The Grizzled Mighty -> MIA -> The National -> Boys Noize Tacocat -> Brody Dalle -> Tune-Yards -> Hannibal Burress -> Black Joe Lewis -> campground break -> Haim -> Rodriguez -> Parquet Courts -> QOTSA -> Gesaffelstein I'm sure I probably stood right next to you at some point, but since you're not actually Dave Coulier, I didn't recognize you.
