I need some serious starting point info for any and all of: Cut Copy, Foals, Phantogram, Phosphorescent, Violent Femmes, Elbow. Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes I've seen all bands listed but Elbow. I second these picks wholeheartedly. After In Ghost Colours, get Zonoscope. Foals - The one with Spanish Sahara on it, I forget which. Or don't bother and just go in blind (or deaf in this case I guess?). I feel their albums are just okay but they absolutely kill live. Phantogram - Also a great live act. "A Mouthful of Diamonds" is a good sample, haven't heard the new album yet. Phosphorescent - "Song For Zula" was one of the best songs of 2013. Start there. Elbow - I already stated I haven't seen them. Why are you still reading this?

I would say Bright Like Neon Love over Zonoscope, personally. All good albums though! Cut Copy are so dreamy.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'm pretty stoked about festival homework these next couple months. I guess sooner or later somebody should start up a "Tell us about the lineup" thread. July is exactly twice as good. Is anyone else surprised The National is billed so high? Considering they're billed so high at Primavera, not really. They've been around for a while, their last album was widely considered to be their best, and they're a killer live band. But I see your point. As much as I dig them and are excited for a headlining set, they're probably May's weakest top billing act.

Tyler the Creator I need some serious starting point info for any and all of: Cut Copy, Foals, Phantogram, Phosphorescent, Violent Femmes, Elbow. So much yes to Shakey Graves! The man is amazing, can't wait to finally see him live. Foals is an incredible live band. I love all of their albums and they seem to really hit their stride more and more with each album, so I'd give them all a shot. Some highlights, though, are Red Socks Pugie and Two Steps Twice off Antidotes; Spanish Sahara and Blue Blood off Total Life Forever; and Inhaler and Providence off Holy Fire. Just started listening to Phantogram but I can't get enough of When I'm Small. Haven't heard their early stuff but Phosphorescent's newest album Muchacho is my current obsession. Give Song For Zula, Muchacho's Tune, and Down to Go a listen! Sorry for the novel, hope this helps

It's not quite like the others where some songs are irresistibly catchy and will never leave your brain, but the entire thing is very solid. Give it a few more listens and I bet you'll find some value in it. I probably listened to it 15 times last year and by the end I liked it quite a bit.

More accurately: their last album received generally positive reviews, but you can say that about most of their records, really. I actually thought Trouble was pretty bland at first but it's grown on me like a motherfucker. Also, thank you crouton. You've always been a friend to me in salads, glad to see that relationship extends to music as well.

Mmmmmm my mom makes home made croutons sometimes, and whenever I go home to visit I eat an entire container of them on their own. I'm a crouton fiend.
