Please add:
Nothing - Guilty of Everything
This album is not at all what I expected, but it's still really good.
Also...
Schoolboy Q - Oxymoron
I thought I added that one already, but I guess not.

I need to come to terms with the fact that I will never understand Animal Collective/associated acts.

I need to come to terms with the fact that I will never understand Animal Collective/associated acts. That makes two of us. I've tried (albeit not very hard), but I just don't get it. I keep meaning to go back and give them another shot, but I haven't gotten around it.

Animal Collective are one of those bands that requires repeated listening to really "get". I remember back when I first discovered them I thought they were awful. Just sounded like a bunch of random noise to me. I think it was Strawberry Jam that actually clicked with me after the 5th listen or so. After that, I started exploring the rest of their catalog and began loving all of it. They're now one of my favorites.
So yeah, just keep trying. It'll click for you guys soon enough.

I keep meaning to go back and give them another shot, but I haven't gotten around it. I listen to Strawberry Jam every 6 months or so to see if I "get" it yet. Hasn't clicked so far. Invariably I end up listening to Merriweather Post Pavilion during summer because all my friends love it, but I don't actively enjoy it unless I'm super fucked up on the chips of corn.

"You ever listened to Animal Collective? You ever listened to Animal Collective on weed?"

Aren't the chips of corn supposed to just enhance the music, not purely make it listenable? I don't think that weed should be a requirement for enjoying anything.

Nick, tell me, what are your feelings on the band WEEN? This is a very important question that will determine if we're friends or not.
