Those are two of my favorites.
I don't get the joke. I just referenced two bands that I like and both have new albums, which happen to be at the opposite ends of each band's quality scale.

Updated! Those are two of my favorites. I don't get the joke. I just referenced two bands that I like and both have new albums, which happen to be at the opposite ends of each band's quality scale. Maybe we listen to Mogwai for different reasons. Happy Songs and The Hawk Is Howling are my favorites. I mostly just meant I put Mogwai and Thee Silver on completely different levels of musicianship, Mogwai being placed lower. I still need to listen to Fuck Off..., the opportunity just hasn't presented itself. But I have no doubt it blows Rave Tapes out of the water. That said, I still enjoy the majority of that album.

I listen to Mogwai because guitars, which is why I like Rave Tapes less. The Hawk is my #2, though.

Fair enough. I always like it when bands try out new sounds, and I'm a sucker for electronic music anyway, so it makes sense that Rave Tapes would end up in my wheelhouse.

please add Broken Bells - After The Disco to my list. Some more serious undercurrents on this one but it works for me.

Seeing this thread be active makes me sad that I've listened to 0 new albums so far this year. I really need to get some new music.

Forapolitical suicide = I'm a member of the largest private music tracker in the world. I hear all of the new music, or have the option too, at high quality long before most of you can buy it... and I still have trouble keeping up.

I'm not a part of THAT one, but I've got access to a few others. I just haven't taken the time to find new music and it's been slowly driving me crazy. This weekend that shall change!

I've listened to this a few times through, but was a little distracted with work and stuff. At this point I think it'll be like the other Behemoth albums that I can get into but are a little easy to forget about. I suppose you could expect a grim video for the first single off an album called The Satanist.

Apparently Mark McGuire's Along the Way album is a 2014 release. I thought it was 2013 and think I added it to my list last year. Oops. I still like it this year.

It was released in Japan last year, but in the States this year. Don't know how we want to rule that one.
