Remember when we all hung out with Mullet Man after Postal Service?! Like, less than 24 hours ago?!? Shit, today is not nearly as fun as yesterday.

Best festival I've ever been to. I've only been to like, 4, and it was my first Sasquatch. But this was the best one I've been to.

He shook my hand and didn't seem to mind me screaming at him with my Sasquatch voice.

As far as the festival goes, it was definitely the most unorganized I have seen Sasquatch in my 4 years be as far as sound issues and cancellations go but god damn was it the best. It was so great to not only spend time with so many of you, but with some of my closest friends from Boise who I have been missing like crazy (many of who some of you got to meet)!
What a fucking magical place Sasquatch is.

My list (feel free to add any that I missed) Friday Schoolboy Q & Ab-Soul (no show) Saturday Tame Impala (Moved from Bigfoot to Yeti and Set time changed from 10PM to 11:15 due to Gear Mishap) Sunday None that I recall hearing about Monday Gold Fields (Last Minute Cancellation) Brown Bird (Cancelled 5/20, Replaced by Horse Feathers) Jenny Slate (Cancelled 5/3, Replaced by Tig Notaro) Azealia Banks (Last Minute Cancellation, Imagine Dragons moved from 4:15pm-5:15 to 5pm-6:30pm)

Youth Lagoon was 45+ minutes late for theirs due to them standing on stage sound checking for that entire time. That was really annoying, especially considering how much I enjoyed their set after that.

Did anyone else get to witness the rebirth of Killer Mike? I can't describe it to anyone who wasn't there, but it was obvious that night affected him in a deep way and it was amazing to be a part of it. I couldn't help crying toward the end and when he came down and walked out through the crowd, I just wanted to run to I've him a hug and thank him for sharing that moment with us.

Right up there with Wolfgang Gartner's comment from last year. God damn Sasquatch is just the fucking best thing in the universe.

Youth Lagoon was 45+ minutes late for theirs due to them standing on stage sound checking for that entire time. This is only a fair criticism if the stage wasn't already backed up. Menomena started 25 minutes late, but it was because the stage was behind. There were a couple people who left talking shit, and others saying "just play already," but it wasn't Menomena's fault. Shoot, Gramma even accidentally caught the end of Menomena even though he thinks they suck live because they don't play his favorite song anymore. He was there expecting to see the start of Beachwood Sparks, and probably had to wait 30 minutes to see it. Beachwood Sparks had the smallest crowd I've ever seen at Sasquatch by the way. I started counting the people there, and I didn't make it to 30.

I think the frustrating part was how excruciatingly slow Youth Lagoon were doing their sound check. We stood there watching them dilly dally their way through a sound check for almost exactly an hour.
I think it stung especially bad because we had very recently waited a full hour for the apparently-not-performing Schoolboy Q as well, and the waiting was really starting to wear on me.

For the record Menomena does NOT suck live. That was fucking rad. I didn’t know Thor was in that band though. Thor is my favorite part of the band. At a show a couple years ago, he rested his chin on top of the sax players head. He is a giant man. Menomena plays some pretty complicated music, and they definitely are not perfect live. At times it sounds like each musician is playing a different song, but that is what they are going for, and it's strangely cohesive. Their keyboard and guitar players have changed multiple times since Brent left, but the guitar player seems to be a staple now. He's played with them for at least a year now. The darker skinned keyboard/bass/acoustic guitar player is new, and was a bit too excited and up tempo on some of the keys solos. It's good to hear one of the boarders with the best taste in live music agrees the statement "Menomena sucks live" is absurd.
