Yeah, I remember the 'Girl Arrested for Dancing at Sharon Jones' thread from that year. And I saw the video. You were obviously -- OBVIOUSLY -- on something, and when you were approached by the yellowshirt you got all fuckin' mouthy with him. Wavin' your arms around and pointing fingers and making a scene. The reason you were approached in the FIRST place was for dancing in the walkway, which is really one of the only things that will get a yellowshirt's attention at all.
We had this dude we were camped with one year; ended up in the Ephrata jail for 'inciting a riot'. When we asked his friends about it, they told us how there had been an ugly rush at the gates; people pushing, getting angry, etc. So this dude climbs up to the top of the chainlink fence and starts rattling it back and forth and issuing some imbecilic battle cry. Dude's friends said, 'He was NOT inciting a riot! He was just trying to cheer everyone up so they could get into the venue happily!' or some shit.
My response: 'Sounds a little bit to me like inciting a riot.'
Summary: go peddle your horseshit at the stables down the road, we are chock full around here this week.

Something tells me there's more to this story that was conveniently not included. This will be my 6th year and the only people I've ever seen get arrested were asking for it, i.e. trying to sneak onto festival grounds, people that were belligerently drunk inside the venue, starting fights, etc.

For anyone who might have been spooked by this nonsense, all you need to know is this: do not act like a jackass, and you will not be bothered. Get as fucked up as you want; seriously, do whatever the hell you want. Just don't draw undue attention to yourself. There are 30,000 people around you and everyone is having a good time. The security guards are there to collar people who seem incapable of handling their shit (like Mrs. Lebowski here).

We had something similar happen to us at Ozzfest a long time ago. We had just pulled off the freeway and got pulled over along with a huge line of cars and motor homes. I really didn't think anything of it at the time until I looked up and our car was surrounded by WSP. I rolled down my window and the Cop was very nice. He asked how much cash we spent on tickets and food. We laughed together. The cop on the drivers side talking to my friend was not so nice. He wanted us to hand over any drugs or booze. We had none. We where just about to be on our merry way when one of them spotted empty shot gun shells in my buddies back seat. (We live out in the sticks). We are then physically removed from the car. Our shirts taken off. Placed in hand cuffs and placed gently face down on the road. They searched the car for about an hour. Drug Dogs are brought in. They find the smallest roach in the ashtray. We are arrested and the car impounded. They charged us with possession and two other charges for resin on paper. Thank god jail was already full that night. They didn't have room for harden criminals like us. So instead they placed us in the back of a cruiser and gave us a ride to the campground. They pulled right up to the gate and let us out of the backseat still in handcuffs. Lights on for show. We had several hundred people clapping and cheering. I didn't feel very cheerful. They had all of our shit. Food. Tent. Clothes. The fucking car. All we had was our tickets to get in. Twenty minutes later we found somebody we knew. Within five minutes of finding them we all received another ticket for possession. Somebody in the group sparked up a joint and we got swarmed by security. Needless to say it was not a good weekend.

MORAL OF STORY: DO NOT GO TO MOTHERFUCKING OZZFEST OR ELSE

7th year this year, nothing has happened to us as far as going to jail...A selection of the stupid shit that younger me did and would not reccomend to anyone...
1. Climbed onto the roof of my car with beer and bubbler in hand to see the extent of district 9, guards just came over and asked me to get down before I fell and broke my neck...
2. Had a sierra stove, fire got a bit high, surrounded by 10 yellow vests and 4 blue vests, had beer and bubbler in hand, fire died down in the time it took to talk to security and show them how the stove worked, they all went on their way..
3. Lit up a joint on the walk to venue, walked past group of security turned and inadvertently blew smoke into the group of security, they didn't even bat an eye...
Now I am not advocating acting like an idiot like I did in my younger days, but if you spend 30 seconds talking to security like a civilized person and try to see where they are coming from, chances are it will never get to the "spent 3 days in jail" point of action...
Moral of the story, as a guest we are there to party, other people are there to work, allow the people who are working to do their job and they will allow some leeway for us to party...

MORAL OF STORY: DO NOT GO TO MOTHERFUCKING OZZFEST OR ELSE I remember one occasion (during Ozzfest) where we were driving down the freeway smoking a joint, and the dude driving got freaked out when he saw a cop and swerved like a dumbass. I also happened to have an open beer in the back seat with me like a dumbass. Somehow the cop didn't notice or didn't acknowledge the weed smell, but smelled the alcohol and took my beer and gave me a minor in possession of alcohol ticket(I was 18), and let us go on our way. Law enforcement sees a lot of shit at every show, and they have to be somewhat selective with the cases they put very much effort into.

I almost got arrested for trespassing at Sasquatch once. The only reason I almost got arrested is because I started mouthing off to the security woman. I finally backed down and did what she told me to when she called her supervisor. When he showed up, I told him how fucking ridiculous her request was, and he looked at me like, "that is fucking ridiculous," and I went on my way. I should have just done what she told me to initially, and all would have been fine. What I did is no longer considered trespassing by the way.
I was also sitting near a woman who was tackled and arrested for dancing in the walkway (not the Sharon Jones one), Security asked her to move, and she said something along the lines of, "You can't do anything to me, I'm just dancing, there is nothing wrong with dancing, leave me alone." She started yelling at security when they continued asking her to move, then they took her down. As she was getting cuffed, and bunch of people started screaming, "OMG, OMG, leave her alone," then everyone pulled out their phones to record the end of the scuffle. Had she moved liked they asked her, all would have been fine.
Do I think bunnylebowski wasn't breaking a law when she was accosted, sure. Do I think she flipped the security a bunch of shit, absolutely. Be nice to security so they don't arrest you.

This is really all that needs to be said. This isn't the time to start ranting about your constitutional freedoms, you're not engaging in any activity that needs protection. Security is nice enough to put up with 30,000 severely fucked up people for 4 long days. I don't envy their job and can't blame them for taking a hard line stance on troublemakers. Just do what they say and you'll be fine.

I have been going to the Gorge almost every year for the last 19 years and I have never, not once, seen anyone get arrested or even fucked with for something they didn't deserve. I even had a friend accidentally pass a joint to a security guard in the pit one year and all he did was drop it on the ground, step on it, and walk away. Bottom line is mind your manners, do what the yellow shirts say, and don't do anything stupid to draw attention to yourself and you'll be fine.

If I have never been arrested at Sasquatch before, then I don't know how anybody else has. I came to one morning wrapped in police caution tape and looked like a walking CSI: Sasquatch scene so either I murdered somebody or maybe I myself was the crime. I'm not sure, but I didn't get arrested.

My only two cents on the issue:
I was once threatened with arrest and removal from the Gorge because, like so many other people come Monday afternoon, I was reclining on the hillside and taking a bit of a mid-day siesta. And I wasn't even sleeping - just laying down, as I was exhausted as all fuck from the previous 3 days. A yellowshirt came over, nudged my shoulder with her foot, and told me to come with her; she said that I was "obviously too intoxicated to stand," which was funny, because she probably caught me at my most sober point of the weekend.
Anyhow, she quickly backed off once I started speaking to her, but I must emphasize that I was very respectful despite her misjudging me. So my two pieces of advice are (a) don't be a dick to the security (as most everyone else here has said), and (b) be aware that if you lay down on the grass, a yellowshirt might think you are blacked out/passed out.

What with the overwhelming consensus, bunnylebowski's simpering self-righteousness is even more annoying.
