What I say doesn't matter, but scalping small amounts doesn't seem like a huge deal. In my mind it takes a little time to resell a ticket and rounding a couple bucks up shouldn't really be a problem. If i were a mod and some one posted for more then like 370 it seems like a problem, but for the most part it seems like the small stuff should slide. This is the exact reason adam got asked about dealing with how ruthless the board can be. We ban some one without notice at the first instance they do something they may not know is wrong.
That is why this discussion is still taking place. Where is the line of an acceptable markup? It's diferent for everyone. You think $370 is acceptable, so that's a $22.50 markup if the person is American and bought a single ticket after the lineup was announced. The person who was banned was charging $40 over presale face. If $22.50 is acceptable, is $40? Where is the line?
People get banned for stupid shit. I know, I've been banned three times. However, one of the first things I see when I click on the board is, "SCALPERS WILL BE BANNED." And I understand some people don't understand what they are doing is wrong, but does that make it right? They probably learned it from a scalper. Ha, maybe that's why we don't support scalping.
I'm breaking this argument for a second...but I'm selling my ticket. I've been unemployed for about a month and half and I probably won't be able to fund the trip. I'm asking for $300 since I got it during the presale. If anyone wants to meet up to buy the ticket, message me (I'm giving priority to boarders that's been around longer).
I'm very sad I won't be able to see you all though :/ That's unless I win tickets through the ecigs contest.
This was apparently overlooked by people trying to defend a $2.50 to $40 markup. Gang is a cool Sasquatcher trying to hook up another cool Sasquatcher with a face value ticket. It sucks you can't make it Gang, but thanks for being one of the cool ones. Also, I was wrong saying I paid $295 for my presale ticket. I paid $310, so you should charge that. I understand if you want to take a $10 loss to hook someone up. You are awesome either way. We need more people like you on this board.
I knew exactly what you were going for, but you think I'm going to give you the satisfaction of saying "a little scalping is okay, but a lot isn't?" You can underestimate the critical thinkers of this board all you want. We're not all as dumb as you think we are.
