No, I know you're stubborn and choose all or none thinking. Have at 'er. I'm still going to point out the flaws in your logic. Why? Because I'm Monday wine drunk and I can. Deal with it. FACE OR FUCK OFF.

Looks like ol' percolator's last login was the day before we started down the rounding=scalping=rape path. Can't wait to see what he thinks about what we did with his thread.

I'm going to defend scalping because I'm drunk and you are stubborn. Gang is dumb for not making at least a $40 profit.

Not defending scalping at all. Just showing you your logic is flawed. Sweet Jesus. HOW DARE I.

Devils advocate because I can't sleep:
Every single person had the option to buy pre-sale. They waited and had the benefit of seeing the lineup. People buying pre-sale took a chance, people buying after the lineup came out knew what they were getting. By not buying pre-sale you have to pay more, that's the way it has been ever since they have had pre-sale.
If a pre-sale buyer can't go or decides they don't like the lineup, they can be super nice people and sell it for what they paid, or they can sell it for the regular sale price, since everyone buying after the lineup was willing to pay a higher price so they would know what they are getting. Anyone who didn't like the lineup isn't going to buy, anyone who does like it would have been willing to pay the regular sale price.
Did any of that make sense? Not saying that is what I would do, I just can't sleep.

I feel ya, Dave. To me, "face value" doesn't equal hat you paid for it, it equals what I would have paid for it at regular price (pre-sales are a discounted price). At the end of the day, as long as a person doesn't try to charge me more than that, I don't care if they bought it at full price, got a discount, or if their uncle Jimmy gave it to them at their bar mitzvah. If someone got a good deal on one and wants to pass it, good karma on them. I not, the only person who knows is them and I could care less.
For the record, I'm also drunk so I might not make sense either.
Edit: Apparently Dave's not drunk, just can't sleep.

On New Girl the other night, the Nick character said something pretty much like this:
I'm gonna take mushrooms and go to the Dave Matthews Band concert. That's right -- I'm a Daver.

I am not sure how I feel about my name being associated with Dave Matthews and his band.
(Fun fact, my middle name is Matthew.)

I'm still going to point out the flaws in your logic. Just showing you your logic is flawed. I like that you point to "logic" while patting yourself on the back. "I sure showed wonk by telling him there is an imaginary level above face value which is totally acceptable to sell tickets for, even though I can't define what that level is, and neither can anyone else. HE HAS NO LOGIC!" You should probably look that word up, or quit while you think you're ahead.

So I paid $365 from livenation and you guys are expecting me to take a $30 hit and pay for potential shipping costs if I decided to sell my ticket? You're fucking nuts.

No, we expect that you will charge no more then $337.50 USD and will not try to recoup your initial shipping cost. Your cost to ship to the buyer is a different story.

That seems especially fair, since the shipping cost has already paid for a service that was provided to you. You paid $10 (or more) to have it shipped to you, and it was. There's no reason to expect that money back, it's not like selling the ticket negates the fact that it was actually shipped to you.
And I'm saying "you" referring to any potential ticket seller on here, not any specific person.
As for shipping it to a new person, I've got a question. Since livenation asks for $10 shipping, would asking a potential ticket buyer for $5-$10 for shipping be allowed here? I know it's too late to actually apply to ticket sales this year, but I'm just curious as to what the powers that be have to say about that.

You should be able to charge the shipping you paid, why not? If I sell my ticket to someone in Vancouver, they would have had to pay that same shipping cost anyway, so why can't I expect that back? If I ship it somewhere else and the other person pays that shipping, then that might be a different story.

If I ship it somewhere else and the other person pays that shipping, then that might be a different story. The reason we are not going to allow it here is that it is variable. You pay the same fee to ship eight tickets as you do to ship one, and shipping to the U.S. is cheaper than shipping to the Canada. If we allow the shipping cost to be added on top we are saying it's ok to charge $347.50 to $357.50 USD depending on where the seller lives, and beyond that we are then assuming that they only purchased one ticket. What if they purchased four? Are we allowing for that (albeit slim) profit to take place? No, we are not. Don't include shipping fees in your listed cost.
