Let's spend the next four pages trying to define the gray area between what is and what is not scalping again. To some, $2 is okay, to some $20 is okay. We will never agree on where that line starts and ends, which is why it's face or fuck off here. Do what you want outside of the board.
No, let's not. The issue was settled yesterday. When it's all said and done, neither of us makes up the rules around here anyway, so how about we all just shut the fuck up about it and let it die in peace.
This wouldn't have been much of a discussion if people didn't assume the seller was trying to make only $2.50. It is just as likely that pass cost $310 in presale. We don't know if she was trying to make $2.50, $7.50-$12, or $40. All we know is she was charging over face, regardless of how much she paid, so she was banned.
Do those who think a $2.50 markup is cool think a $40 markup is also cool? Okay, $40 is too much, what about $20. $20 is okay, what about $30? $30 is okay, what about $35, $36, $37? Are you really going to say $37.43 is cool, but anyone charging $37.44 over face is a scumbag. It's impossible for even one person to define an absolute amount over face that is acceptable before it becomes scalping.

Most of us understand shades of grey. That going 1km over the limit, while technically speeding, is nowhere near as bad as going 80 over. Sure, it's hard to say exactly where the line ever is... But most of us have pretty good judgement and don't need hard and fast, black and white rules. Because we are reasonable, critical thinking adults.
