I would imagine they offered to sell it for above face value.

$350 is above face. I know some here think a bit of scalping is okay (spicypie, nater), but scalping is not allowed regardless of how you play it off. Why would you ever defend scalping?

I woud never defend scalping, but after shipping, I paid $347.50 for my passes from JiveNation. I wouldn't really consider selling one for $350 to be scalping, more like rounding up.

Yea, wonk, you are incorrect this time. I know that's hard to swallow.

Yeah haven't we been using $350 as face value for a while? And didn't popquiz offer to sell for $350?

Popquiz posted [in multiple threads] she had a wristband for $350. That's definitely face value, and if she's Canadian (she posted in a few Vancouver threads, so maybe?) that's actually under face by a little since they came to $358 for us up here. Did she change the amount in a private message or something? 'Cause otherwise I'm not getting why she was banned.

Why is selling a ticket for what you paid so hard to understand? I paid $295. Should I make a profit? No, but others should?

You must have got presale, because regular price was $337.50 plus $10 shipping (or $20 shipping to Canada). I don't really consider $2.50 "profit".

How about instead of trying to define the gray area between what is and what isn't scalping, we keep this black and white. Face value or fuck off (like it's always been).

I know I don't really have any say in the matter, but I just think dropping the ban hammer over $2.50 is a little harsh. Say the tickets retailed for $299.95, do we ban someone for asking $300?

We probably need to discuss that gray area if some people think $350 is scalping, because it isn't. It's just a more convenient amount of money to give to someone than $347.50.
If something else happened and the person mentioned another price I didn't see, then ignore this.

So I can sell my pass for $350, make $55 profit, and it's not scalping?

What about the person who paid $600 for their pass, and is selling it for $500. They are taking a $100 hit. Is that cool then?

Are you suggesting that all tickets on this forum be sold at presale face value price?
I guess I'll elaborate here. If someone purchased it for $600, that's their own damn fault for buying from a scalper. They can sell it elsewhere for whatever price they choose, or they can sell it at a loss here for face value.
There's no way to prove whether or not people bought them in presale, and I think the regular face value ($347.50 or $350, depending on how much of a stickler we feel like being) is a fair price. I don't really care how much anybody paid for their ticket, face value is the law.
