When I went to the Gorge for Identity festival, I got seated in the best part of the entire campsite. On the road as soon as you enter the campgrounds, there is a small grassy area right across the street from the convenience store there, and we camped right there. It was no more than 100 feet away from the start of the gravel path that leads over to the venue.
At all my Sasquatch experiences, it's been the opposite. The distance from my campsite to that same part where the gravel path begins has always been 20+ minutes instead of 1 minute. It's a big difference.

The campground is pretty much a circle with roads all leading from the outside of the circle to the centre. These roads make the campground into pizza slice style shapes. They fill those up one at a time. Showing up 10 minutes earlier or later could mean the difference between being on the very outside of the campground or the middle. It's a total crapshoot and you can't control it.
