Aside from the dust storm, the weather was perfect at Coachella for me. Bring the heat!

Burrito does not wear sunscreen, much to my dismay. I didn't either the first year I went in 2008, and returned to Seattle after that weekend with the worst sunburn of my life. I was dark red everywhere on my body that had been exposed to the sun, and I remember peeling for about 3 weeks afterward. Wear some damn sunscreen.

Aside from the dust storm, the weather was perfect at Coachella for me. Bring the heat! It was wee bit hot in the afternoons for me. Stopped me from going in earlier than 3 a couple days.

Saturday was probably about the same temperature that the entire weekend was during 2011, but for some reason I had a much, much easier time operating this year. It was the earliest I went in all weekend and I somehow managed to get drunk and stay drunk all day and night without ever having any issues with the heat. I probably should have died. I mean shit, I was in the 1pm Trash Talk circle pit.

Saturday was the only day the heat really got to me. I didn't make it in until 5pm or something like that.
I never felt the heat that bad at Sasquatch, maybe the breeze helps or maybe I'm just getting old.

That's one nice thing to count on, there's usually a steady breeze at Sasquatch. I remember every day in 2009 being in the upper 80s / low 90s but weather history for the location shows low 80s all weekend. So many people got taken away in ambulances for heat exhaustion. There really aren't many places to hide inside the amphitheater if it's a hot day. Any areas of shade will be full of people until the evening.

I loved watching the people follow the shade under that weird dance tent in 2009. It casted the weirdest shapes onto the grass and there was always a hoard of people stuffed right inside them.

I loved watching the people follow the shade under that weird dance tent in 2009. It casted the weirdest shapes onto the grass and there was always a hoard of people stuffed right inside them. Any fence that was sufficient enough to cast a shadow had hoards of people cowering under the shade as well. That was definitely a sight that was unique to 2009, at least from my perspective. I recall having like 3 hours on one of the days where I didn't have interest in any of the bands and spent a good chunk of that time just trying to find any place to sit down that had shade.

I'm sure glad that's it's been super sunny in Victoria lately, otherwise my poor pale winter skin would be in for quite the sizzlin'.

That looks pretty great, however I don't trust a forecast more than about three days out. It's a pretty good assumption that it'll be similar to that though, given that weather is easier to predict at the Gorge than on the west side of the Cascades.
