Hi All - first time attending Sasquatch and just trying to get an idea of how it all works
- my question is once you are set up in camping is it possible to take your vehicle in and out of the campground? Or once you are in is that it?
Thanks!!!

The rule is you're in and you can't get out. That's printed in the rules.
The reality is they've never said no when I've driven out and back in. However, the rules could end up being enforced one of these years.

Attempt at your own risk. I did it no problem last year, but that doesn't mean they can't stop you if they want to.

I also did it no problem last year, but trying to get my car back into its parking spot was kind of a pain in the ass. I ended up driving over rebar that someone had used to stake their tent. Not cool.
Aaaaalllsssso I think this would be much easier if you were camping in, say, overflow, where theres a ton of space...

Where the hell did you guys go last year? Since I was coming down with something AND drove the entire way since my car companion wasn't feeling up for driving, I passed the F out when we got to the campground (after shotgunning a few, I think..). Anyway, I was up hours before anyone else the next morning and feeling good. I took a drive into one of the nearby cities along the river, which was an absolutely beautiful drive. Had a bathroom shower at Starbucks and a proper coffee, went to walmart and picked up a ton more booze and other fun things for the group.

Maybe about an hour or less. I think I drove south? I might do it again this year just because I enjoyed the drive so much.

I feel like I've posted this same thing in half a dozen similar threads so far this year. I've attended the festival for the past 5 years and they've always given in and let people come and go, eventually. Don't expect for them to let you out with a guarantee you'll get back in until Friday, maybe Saturday. Once the massive lines to get into the campground die down (could be late Friday, might not be til overnight into Saturday), that's when it'll probably happen again. Make sure you have enough supplies to last at least a couple days when you first arrive at the campground, because they tend to tweak the rules a bit from year to year.

I've always wanted to wake up early one morning and go jump in the Columbia River. I'm always waaaay too lazy though. I bet it'd be so refreshing and awesome.

A couple of my friends did just that back in 2010 on a cloudy 50ish degree morning. We drove across the river to Vantage and stopped at the boat launch area and they took a dip. That was actually how they decided to bathe for the day.

I sent their customer support an email asking this question, and this was their response:
"Thank you for your inquiry. Yes there will be in and out privileges for the campground however due to the high volume of traffic times are allotted each day by management. Please check with a Live Nation employee before exiting the campgrounds."
Not entirely sure what they mean but that, but it looks like you'll be officially allowed to a certain extent

If people have the motivation to email JiveNation, then why on earth would they ever bother to ask us first?

...especially if they're just going to email JiveNation anyway?

A swim in the Columbia was a tradition for my first 6-7 Sasquatch's but I haven't done it the last several years. I'm totally up for it if it's hot and sunny on our way out on Tuesday.

If there's a massive backup to get into the campground, don't even bother asking them about it. During periods with light traffic they probably won't give you any problems. Assume that there will be a period of heavy traffic from Thursday afternoon until at least early Friday afternoon, and plan accordingly by bringing enough supplies to last until traffic dies down.
