I'm hitting Reignwolf because I feel like Red Fang play locally more often. But other than that it's basically a coin toss.

Reignwolf v Red Fang. Thoughts? This was one of the hardest ones for me at first. I initially decided on Red Fang because Reignwolf on the main stage at that time in the afternoon felt like a weird vibe to me. However, I am starting to lean back toward seeing RW instead because I feel like his set might be more memorable. Red Fang kick ass, but they risk being "just another metal show" where Reignwolf seems to bring something really unique to each of his sets.

I do what I can. Who have you seen before? Which stage is better for thrashing around violently? These are important questions.

I've seen neither. I suppose I'll let the spirits guide me.

The hardest one for me right now is Reignwolf vs. Red Fang. I was stoked when I saw Red Fang was going to be there. I had never heard Reignwolf, but after watching some of his performances on YouTube, I was really looking forward to his set too. Have you seen Red Fang before? That could make the decision easier. Reignwolf is an amazing guitarist and performer, but RF is one of the best metal bands in the PNW, and everyone I know says they have a fantastic live show. Plus their set bleeds into Japandroids and that's just gonna be ragin' couple of hours. Really depends on what kind of mood you're going for, I guess. Pretty bummed I'll be missing Reignwolf at Squatch for the second year in a row, but I'll catch him at Squamish so it's gravy. Note to self - read threads before posting. Great thoughts. Also going to Squamish (should I not move before then), so RF it is! BAM.

After catching Reignwolf for the last 20 minutes of his set at Bumbershoot last year, I'm definitely not passing up the chance to see him again! His energy is insane and watching him play the guitar and drums AT THE SAME TIME was both amazing and mesmerizing.

Also, for whoever is saying your relationship will end if you go see different bands, just set up a meeting place after. Unless you were planning on cuddling during "Ho Hey" I guarantee it won't be a big deal. I know; I was exaggerating for dramatic effect. However, she is a Gorge virgin and will likely want to be stuck to my hip the whole time. Which means she will agree to watch which ever I go to, then will quietly resent me for the rest of her life if she doesn't get to hear that fucking song. That sucks. I love the gorge because you can fuck off by yourself for as long as you want, then magically find people the instant you want to. I hope she explores.... alone time is sometimes the BEST time at a festival.

After going over the schedule together, there are a few times throughout the weekend when we will each be off doing our own thing and she's pretty excited about the idea. Even though, after watching parts of each of their Coachella sets online, I'm starting to lean more toward watching the Lumineers over alt-J anyway. I'll probably just end up wandering between the two and seeing which holds my interest more.

It was more the "We are going to show you pictures you can't see and read our jokes directly off of flash cards" type deal. I actually found the first season of the show pretty funny, but onstage they were a disaster. I agree completely. It didn't seem like they thought it out at all. Even just straight improv would have been preferable. "Here's all the signs we have in Portland....and here's what our menus look like." And the dreaded audience participation. uggh.

Reignwolf v Red Fang. Thoughts? Reignwolf is killer and that's where I'll be. Hooooowwever! He is gonna be at like, every festival I'm going to this year including Squamish (where you'll be, correct?).

I've got my ticket, and my plan is to not have a job by then, drive out to Vancouver, spend a bunch of time with friends and family, maybe drive down the west coast a bit, maybe fuck around in Tofino, go to Squamish, mosey back to Calgary, then move to Montreal.

Built to Spill and Father John Misty is becoming a major conflict for me. And the more I think about it the harder it gets.

That's a big one for me as well. It wasn't an issue at all until I saw FJM at Coachella. He's seriously one of the best new frontmen in the game and sounds absolutely fantastic live.

Despite being the only time I've seen him, I can confidently say that something about the ambiance of the dust, wind, lighting, and color-changing palm trees probably helped make this the best FJM show that will ever take place. Regardless, this should give you a great idea of just how entertaining he is live:

So I am having a couple of conflicts of indifference and would like some opining into what I should do...
The BRMC vs Michael Kiwanuka vs Joe Mande vs Nancy and Beth situation as of now the girlfriend and I are in agreeance that BRMC are generic at best and do nothing to differentiate themselves within the genre, Michael Kiwanuka seems too jack johnsonish, and nancy and beth are they a real act playing real chunes or are they just a gag band made up of a couple comedians...
as well as
Elvis Costello vs Baths vs Killer Mike which stands as the old guy playing songs we don't know vs an awesome headphone artist vs I have no interest in that kind of hip-hop...
I know that first reactions will be, "why does this guy even go to music festivals if he doesn't know/like the music" however I love the schedule beyond those couple of conflicts...So can anyone help out, I would prefer actual experiences rather than youtube videos but anything is better than what I am facing now, which is spending an hour or so aimlessly walking around...

I was excited for Elvis Costello, but a friend told me they were kind of miserable live so I'm doubtful at the moment. I'm a big Baths fan so that one is a no brainer for me though. I'll probably end up splitting those two because the girlfriend is a Costello fan.
As for the first one, I've got no real input besides the fact that I'll probably end up seeing BRMC because I care even less about the other two.

I'm kinda where you're at on the first conflict... I don't really care that much about any of the bands playin then but have picked BRMC just as something to do. Or I might watch Nancy and Beth.
But for your second conflict: I highly suggest you start plowing your way through Costello's catalogue and get real familiar! I think you'd feel like a fool later passing up the chance to see him. And at the very least, start there and if his set is really doing nothing for you, then wander over to Baths. But I for one am thinking Costello's set will be fun party dancey times mixed with classic sing a long times.
