Our good pal, Edwin (E, Delat Sig Chi whatever) was talking about seeing them (ID) like 50 times a week in 2011, so I can attest to the douche canoe factor...

I'm in the same boat as obi, I don't listen to radio, beyond watching KEXP's Youtube channel...So when sasquatch hits every year, I know a handful of the bigger names and spend 2-3 months playing "catch-up", by reading threads here, looking at the overlap in other festivals, reading other festival forums...After the fest I tend to get a bit over saturated so I fall back to the "what are you listening to" thread and the like to continue my musical pursuits until it resets at the turn of the new year...

I still can't believe that somebody like E actually exists in the world.

Wait, you're telling me that this isn't the reason Sasquatch sold out? Highly excited for this dudes set.

I absolutely love Nacho. He and Blue Sky Black Death have really good chemistry together. He's not the best lyricist (although he can be pretty funny) but his rapping fits with the beats so perfectly that I don't even notice.

Lumineers -> Alt-J is the only real conflict for me
Also Vampire Weekend -> Macklemore but VW is playing Outside Lands which I'm also going to, and I'll be able to catch half their set before Macklemore anyway

Alt-J sucked at Coachella. Lumineers were awesome.

I don't know... I saw Ariel Pink open for the Flaming Lips and thought his stuff was okay at the time, but I added one of the albums to my ipod and deleted it a couple weeks later. Maybe I'll give it another listen but I like Alt-J enough that their performance would have to be an XX-like snoozefest to get me to regret my decision to see them.

I have never listened to Ariel Pink. At this point I am content with the bands I plan on seeing and I am not sure I want to create conflicts for myself....that being said I will give Ariel Pink a listen.

If you're gonna give him a listen get Mature Themes. I saw him open for Flips as well and he put on a good show. That was in 2010... apparently he's even better nowadays. I'm pretty big on Alt-j as well but if they aren't too great live than I may just have to boogie on down to the Yeti.
I was pretty set on Japandroids, but Schoolboy Q is starting to entice me. Mainly because I live in Van and will likely have a chance to see the former again, and the last time SQ tried to enter the country he got denied. Moreover, I feel like I should embrace this Rapsquatch lineup by trying to watch as much hip hop as possible. Probably will be a gametime decision.

I just listened to Vampire Weekend's new album that comes out next week, and now I'm more at peace with missing half of Macklemore to see their full set. It's a bit different from their past albums, but still chock full of festival-friendly songs.
