Is anyone else as torn up about the Elvis Costello / Killer Mike conflict as I am? I never would have imagined this being a decision I would have to make in my life. The fact that I get the chance to see two so dissimilar artists in the same day is part of what I love about the 'Squatch, but the fact that I have to choose between them is killing me.

The fact that I get the chance to see two so dissimilar artists in the same day is part of what I love about the 'Squatch, but the fact that I have to choose between them is killing me. I'm right there with ya. The way I see it is this: Mike's amazing, and I probably listen to more of his music in general, but Costello is fucking Costello. The chances I (and presumably you) get to see a legend like him at all, let alone on the main stage at such a beautiful venue, are few and far between. I'm planning on catching mostly Elvis' set, and popping over for a song or two of Mike's just to see the magic. KM will tour again guaranteed, probably before the year's up, and when that happens you can enjoy a full show. And he may even be better suited for an indoor venue anyway. I think missing all of/the majority of the Imposters set would lead to regret, but that's just my speculation. Hope it helps. That said: I also feel compelled to watch some Killer just to top off an amazing day of hip hop. Danny Brown, El-p, Earl Sweat...gotta check out some of those Cthulhu artists too.

That's pretty much exactly what I'm thinking. I would just settle for watching El-P, as Mike will likely show up and do some songs with him, but there is no fucking way I'm missing the Dropkick Murphys.

How can you still be unfamiliar with 80% of the line up? Its been out for two months. I've been too lazy to do any thorough research on any of them. I'll probably end up waiting until a week before the fest to actually do any serious searching. That way if I really dig something I'll be that much more amped to see them.

YUP! Holy Ghost! vs. Akron/Family is starting to hurt more now that the fest is drawing nearer. No question I'm seeing A/F, but man it stings. Still, that's my worst conflict so I can't complain too much.

Costello is fucking Costello. The chances I (and presumably you) get to see a legend like him at all, let alone on the main stage at such a beautiful venue, are few and far between. That's my reasoning behind going to see Elvis Costello, who I admittedly was very unfamiliar with until the past couple weeks. Naturally I started listening to his stuff and immediately liked it, then wondered why I had ignored it for years. I'm going to see Death Grips as well because while it isn't the type of music I listen to all the time, I always try to catch the groups that are known to put on ridiculous live shows. I had originally wanted to see Menomena in that slot but changed my mind because of Death Grips' reputation. Also if anyone's conflict list involves the XX, just know that the most used words I've seen to describe their Coachella set were "boring" and "moody". If that's your thing then go see them, but I'll be at John Talabot / Tame Impala during the XX's time slot.

Talabot is going to be awesome. I just started listening to ƒin and it's got me totally hooked.

I have seen both bands in question several times and you can bet yer nutz I'll be jockin' at the Bigfoot stage. Alright I will trust you! And by that I mean I'm going to start at Toro and probably move to DEATH GRIPS. I've heard Toro can be a little boring sometimes.

Excellent choice. The fact that Death Grips are scheduled for an hour is kind of a big deal, and the end will definitely be a sight to behold.

Not that there was ever much of a conflict for me between the Postal Service and Rusko, but the videos of the Postal Service from Coachella got me excited for them again. I was starting to not care much thanks to them doing gigs seemingly everywhere.
