I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread to help people decide which side of their conflict to go to. For example: If anyone is considering Youth Lagoon but does not know how his record will sound live, I can say that he is amazing live and if you are a fan of his albums you should check his show out.

There is seriously somrbody in the r/sasquatch thread bitching about Sigur Ros' time slot. What exactly was their complaint? Their set time might be the most incredible time and placement of a band I've ever seen at a festival. They have 30 minutes where they are the only artist playing on all of the stages, and the only ones they do go up against are DJs. It couldn't have been more perfect for me.

I really don't understand it but there are a large number of attendees who don't bother to investigate the lineup at all. They'll have bought tickets because Macklemore and Mumford get played on The End all the time and don't spend too much time investigating the lineup beyond that. Seems wasteful to me but those are the people who are complaining about Sigur Ros getting too long of a set time. They haven't listened to them at all and don't understand why they're headlining over bands they know.

Ohhhh...so perhaps it was someone on the other side of the coin. That makes more sense.

My Conflicts are bummers, but I feel the choices are obvious ones. I'd love to hear some counterpoints though.
Friday: Arctic Monkeys - Youth Lagoon Macklemore - Baauer (This is more of a toss up because I am not really into either)
Saturday: Michael Kiwanuka - BRMC Andrew Bird - Akron/Family
Sunday: Fang Island - Tallest Man On Earth Radical Face - El-P - Dropkick Murphys Elvis Costello - Baths (yeah, yeah. I know...)
Monday: Death Grips - Menomena Cake - Twin Shadow Lumineers - Alt-J Postal Service - Rusko

For Friday I would check out Youth Lagoon, he has a very intense and almost personal show. If his sound is good on the yeti stage he should be perfect for twilight hour.
The only other recommendations I have is to go to DEATH GRIPS. I haven't seen them live but I hear it is an incredible and violent show...if you are into that sort of thing.

That was definitely the direction I was leaning. I keep hearing wonderful things about YL live. The only reason I even have a conflict with Death Grips / Menomena is that I saw Menomena here in Anchorage like 2 years ago at a show with The Antlers and they blew me away.

The hardest one for me right now is Reignwolf vs. Red Fang. I was stoked when I saw Red Fang was going to be there. I had never heard Reignwolf, but after watching some of his performances on YouTube, I was really looking forward to his set too.
Killer Mike doing a half hour set right in the middle of Elvis Costello just pisses me off. Those are 2 of the acts I was most looking forward to.
Also, the Alt-J/Lumineers conflict has the potential to end my relationship. I want to see Alt-J, but my girlfriend really wants to see the Lumineers.

If you haven't seen DEATH GRIPS I would totally check them out. I haven't personally seen them live but their live videos and just them in general are fucking nuts. Also the biggest conflict for me is DEATH GRIPS vs. Toro Y Moi. Fucking heart breaker those two being at the same time.

End the relationship Alt-J is going to be incredible...judging from their SXSW performance anyway.
