Can anyone tell me a little about the RV Gold camping space? It's not the same as the Wildhorse camping, right? The only thing I saw on the website is that it's close to the entrance. I'm bringing a tent trailer with my teenage sons (16 and 15) so I wanted a slightly less rowdy environment. Thanks!

It's a new thing so none of us really have all that much information for you. I believe it to be a section of Premiere Camping, so it should be somewhat quieter. The costs will keep the ruffians away. Wildhorse is off site and not actually associated with the festival. Expect it to be somewhere between Terrace and Premiere on this map.

I don't know that anyone here has ever stayed in the RV section, so we probably won't be much help to you. Your guess is as good as mine on whether it's a quieter area or not, but I'd wager it is in the same way premiere is.
But you're right that it's not the same thing as Wildhorse-- Wildhorse is a privately run, off-site facility. They probably offer something for those with RVs and might be worth looking into for the quieter atmosphere you're after.

Not to be a smart ass at all, but I would assume being shielded by a vehicle automatically would make things quieter. I can only imagine that it is as calm as Premier which truly is pretty calm in comparison to General. It is fenced and I could guarantee you won't see anyone snorting elephant tranquilizers off of their Spicy Pie plate.

Yea, I'm sure both the higher price and having a vehicle to insulate you from outside parties are both factors that would lend themselves to ensure it's a quieter camping experience. I don't know that I'd go as far as guaranteeing that RV camping will be an automatic shield from the general Sasquatch debauchery though. I mean, I could see some groups renting RVs with the intention of being able to throw a bigger party with better set ups and sound systems, just maybe a bit more of a private party than the ones in general.

you won't see anyone snorting elephant tranquilizers off of their Spicy Pie plate. Don't judge me.

So I wrote the Gorge today asking where Gold RV is located and they sent me the following: Looks like it's right outside the festival area, which is nice. Note that these spots are STILL AVAILABLE from here (I just checked to confirm): concerts.livenation.com/event/0F00495F8FCC2F89I was told you do not need an RV to camp in them (I sincerely hope you don't, since we aren't bringing one ... we just wanted these spots for the private bathrooms)

Hey Everyone,
We have purchased upgrade to Gold RV camping but now have decided that the rent of an RV is too much and are going to bring 2-3 tents for the four of us. Does anyone know if tents are allowed or not allowed in Gold RV? I would assume it doesn't matter but just looking for some insight, please and thank you.

They won't turn you away if you have a tent instead. You paid $300+ for the privilege to camp closer.
