So over on the Lolla board somebody said an Austin writer, Michael Corcoran, claims that The Cure, Depeche Mode, Kings of Leon, Muse, and Atoms for Peace will all be at ACL. This was back in January. Depeche Mode just released their tour and it looks like the will be at ACL: consequenceofsound.net/2013/03/depeche-mode-announces-u-s-tour/
So maybe this guy has some credibility?
Also, looks like Fun. might be there as well judging by their tour schedule.
I would love for those to be the headliners. The Cure and Depeche Mode crowds shouldn't be overly crowded with bands like Muse and Kings of Leon playing opposite. I was disappointed Depeche Mode isn't playing in the NW (yet), so this would make up for it.
Mufucking the Cure. I would consider Osheaga if the rest of the lineup wasn't such crap.
I realize headliners don't make a festival, but Coachella HAS to feel a little silly that they couldn't pull the trigger on anything and everything else that all of these other festivals are managing to do.
Yeah, Blur would require far too much work from me to convert anybody into liking them. Their sound is so overtly 90s and British that if you missed that train back in the 90s, you're probably not gonna get on now.

Yeah, Wonk definitely has a point there, I've just never gotten too into The Cure or Depeche Mode. I've casually listened to both of them and it never did too much, maybe it's because of my age or something. Now if all four bands end up there, I will probably still go see them over the alternatives just because of who they are.
A second follow-up point, I would rather there be a lineup where there are conflicts instead of one where I'm saved the piece of mind of deciding over who to see, because at least then there is still a choice rather than being saved the choice because of a subpar booking. This is a bit of a nit-picky argument, but nonetheless I hope at least neither KOL or Muse are booked, which still seems pretty likely knowing ACL.
I should probably give Depeche Mode and The Cure another listen given their likelihood of being there.
I'll admit, I have never really listened to Depeche Mode but I damn excited that they are potentially going to be there just because of their stature. I have listened to The Cure a lot and have them on my list of top 5 bands I must see before I die. I will be more than happy if KOL draws the crowd away from them.
