If I know what he's like at all, he'll be wanting to put on an incredible show for his home state festival and everyone in the crowd will be full of energy on the first night. I have seen him 6 times and I know without a doubt the above statement is 100% true.

I caught roughly sixty seconds of Marklemore's set, and all he was doing was standing there telling 20,000 kids on drugs that they'll never be successful if they use drugs. Marklemore can lick my butthole.

Marklemore can lick my butthole. That was the most cringe worthy moment of the whole festival, I looked over at everyone in my group and we all did the "ummmm" face and turned and left. I mean I can respect the honesty and all but that was almost as big a buzz kill as wayne "why aren't you crying with me" coyne in 2011. As an artist you need to know your audience better than that, and then to top it off he never brought those caddies with lunchables and capri suns to the campgrounds. Chump.

Yeah, man. That drove me out of the gates faster than fucking Kings of Leon. I don't know and I do not care what else he might have brought to the stage that night -- being a condescending asshole is not where it's at.

I felt like he took a big risk putting himself out there like that, knowing th audience he was speaking to. For the record, he never said we wouldn't be successful if we did drugs, he spoke only of is personal experience and was making the point that doing drugs stifled his creativity. His exact words: "Some people can do it; I am not one of those people." I have spent enough time around recovering addicts to know the difference between self disclosure and preaching. I didn't hear anything preachy in what he said, even if I was high as hell when he said it.

Marklemore can lick my butthole. I'm pretty sure that he was just saying that drugs didn't work for him and he didn't start becoming productive until he sobered up. You missed out on one of the craziest sets on the weekend inbetween all the talking.

Anyone who knows what he's been through and who was actually listening to what he was saying could tell he was no being condescending - just honest. I remember vividly him saying that quote ("Some people can do it, I am not one of those people") which I thought was very courteous considering he's post-rehab.

I didn’t see the whole set but I did see 5-6 songs. I was hoping to see “My Oh My” and apparently he played it right after I left. Biggest regret of the weekend. I wish I could have heard Niehaus at the Gorge. MY OH MY~!
