Every time I hear Tame Impala I think of this clip, because every Wolfmother is every Tame Impala, and Patton knows what's up.

Wolfmother is to Tame Impala as Dr. Dog are to Owl City. Meaning, each pair shares nationalities and has obvious influences that shine through the music. That's about as deep as it goes.

Granted I didn't get a 1600 on my SAT (close), but you lost me at Dr. Dog. It's obvious Wolfmother was going for Black Sabbath/Led Zeppelin, Tame Impala is going for the Beatles, and Owl City is going for the Postal Service/Shitting Your Pants While Crying To A Beat, but I think Dr. Dog has a unique sound, albeit somewhat familiar. What am I missing about them? Are they secretly Aerosmith?

You can bet your ass I'll be as close as possible for Sigur Ros, but yeah, missing any part of Tame Impala will be a bummer. Lonerism is a fantastic album, kind of weird to see them getting shit on a bit here. Comparing them to Wolfmother (a terrible band) bums me out.

I don't understand the hate at all either. Lonerism was great. I'm pretty surprised where they are billed though, I didn't realize they had blown up that much.

I like Wolfmother and Tame Impala. I am not surprised where they are booked either but it is personally a horrible conflict if correct. I will just go where my wife wants to go.

That Vampire Weekend placing at Bigfoot makes zero sense to me as well. I had expected that if they were announced they'd be headlining a night (or at the very least being on the same stage/time as before), since it seems highly uncommon for acts to be downgraded in stage placement as time goes on, especially not a band like them that's increasing in popularity. Has a band billed 5th ever been on Bigfoot? If they make me pick between them and Arctic Monkeys or Macklemore I'm going to be filled with rage. I'll just tell myself it was a mistake so I'm not pissed about conflicts 3 months before the festival.
edit: another thing that doesn't make too much sense to me (but more so than the VW shit) is that Arctic Monkeys are rumored to be headlining a night of Glastonbury, but are billed 8th at Sasquatch. I guess they're just a hell of a lot more popular in England.

Arctic Monkeys are British though. Mackelmore is way the hell down on other festival lineups, but headlining Sasquatch.
I also don't see the Arctic Monkeys headlining Glasto.

It seems like they're trying to have Friday night be a Macklemore / Vampire Weekend co-headline, which would be an upgrade of VW's billing from 2010, even if their set isn't on the main stage.
I don't know, just a thought.

Perhaps Vampire Weekend is playing Bigfoot because Rusko will take the headlining Friday spot?

Well shit, what was it we've argued about in the past Wonk? Was it that Elvis wouldn't play or he wouldn't headline?

You said he would, and with a 7th billing, it appears he won't. I'll try to find the conversation later when I have more time. It was probalby in the headliner thread from a couple years ago. But if he somehow lands a headlining slot, and My Bloody Valentine is a late add, I'll leave the board in shame, never to be heard from again.
