TOP 10 ACTS I’M MOST EXCITED TO SEE! 1. Akron/Family 2. Sigur Ros 3. Built to Spill 4. Cake 5.John Talabot 6. Dirty Projectors 7. Death Grips 8. Primus 9. Grimes 10. Vampire Weekend
The Postal Service didn't make the cut (even though Give Up was meaningful to me, blah blah) after I realized that I have in fact seen them at Sasquatch! before and it was apparently completely forgettable. Never thought Vampire Weekend would make my top 10 because I never listen to them but they won me over with their live show in 2010.
TOP 10 ACTS I’VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE 1. Akron/Family 2. Cake 3. John Talabot 4. Primus 5. Grimes 6. Menomena 7. Elvis Costello 8. Nick Offerman 9. Youth Lagoon 10. YPPAH

Because I like making lists. 1. Sigur Ros 2. El-P (and Killer Mike?) 3. Primus 4. Danny Brown 5. Tame Impala 6. Empire of the Sun 7. Built to Spill 8. Vampire Weekend 9. Earl Sweatshirt 10. Azealia Banks My update is mostly just based on now knowing what stage/time each act is playing at. For example, my feelings on Danny Brown haven't changed in the last two months, but I'm less excited about seeing him at 3 in the afternoon than I am about seeing the stuff above him at night or sunset. 1. Sigur Ros 2. Primus 3. Vampire Weekend 4. Tame Impala 5. Empire of the Sun 6. Earl Sweatshirt 7. Alt-J 8. El-P 9. Grimes 10. Danny Brown Honorable mentions: Disclosure, Bloc Party, Dirty Projectors, Akron/Family.

I have a friend in my group who's obsessed with them so I am sure we will make our way over there. I'm excited for them just based on other people's opinions of them and I haven't even listened yet!

They weren't on my top 10 list but that doesn't mean I won't be seeing them. I'm not familiar with Andrew Bird or Holy Ghost so there's no conflict stopping me.

I'm bummed I'll be missing half of Holy Ghost, but then again AKRON/FAMILY. Duhhhhhh

I do really like Akron/Family but I've been a Holy Ghost! fan for longer which makes me lean towards them...DAMN CONFLICTS!

Yeah, that conflict is kind of a bitch. But I'm not too keen on watching the last 20 minutes of shows from the back of the crowd, so it's either gonna be Andrew Bird (who I've seen thrice before) into Holy Ghost!, or Akron/Family into Bloc Party for me. Think I'm gonna go Option B.

Love their stuff, and the hill should be alive with people dancing during their set.

Yeah I know what you mean, and it kinda sucks because there are a lot of bands I want to see that play right up until another show I really want to see, which makes it hard to get a good spot...
Oh well looks like I'll just have to be fast and run from stage to stage.

The past couple years I've set up my personal schedule to move between stages multiple times a day, but I always end up being lazy and skipping some of the moves which causes me to miss stuff I wanted to see. Especially if my schedule has me moving to catch parts of three sets that conflict with each other, it probably isn't happening and I end up staying for one full set.

I think a lot of this depends on the energy and quality of the performance, too. I swore I was passing on Active Child in favor of Tycho last year, but after a couple songs I was almost falling asleep, so I booked it to the Yeti and got to dance. At the same time, I've also been to shows I thought I was going to leave early and ended up staying the entire time because it was so awesome.

The more I listen to Matthew Dear the higher he moves up on my list of people I want to see. I won't be surprised if he's made it to top 3 when my next revision rolls around in a few weeks. Jesus Christ he's funky. I've said it before, but he just might be this year's James Murphy.

Matthew Dear is in one of the most unfortunate time slots of the weekend opposite Vampire Weekend. Those two are the only acts going between 9:45 and 10:30 on Friday, and everyone and their brother will be at Vampire Weekend.

I will probably be at Vampire Weekend, but my brother will be at Matthew Dear.
