Why is Devendra Banhart not on anyone's list! Has anyone seen him live; the guy could easily headline. I saw Devendra Banhart several years back (06 I think?) with no prior knowledge of his music and thought him and his band put on a great show, but then I couldn't get into his actual albums at all - they seemed really weak, and I started to question just how much of a role drugs had played in my enjoyment of his set. Then I dated a girl who loved him, and one night, on our anniversary, I was driving us toward the ferry on Whidbey Island with "Seahorse" playing and a fucking deer popped up out of nowhere and SPRINTED HEAD ON TOWARD MY CAR. Collision followed, the deer died instantly, my car got totaled, and it remains the worst accident I've ever been in. So fuck Devendra Banhart. Well that escalated quickly.

Even though they have a new(ish) album out, Beachwood Sparks seriously came out of nowhere. I never expected to see those dudes live. No joke. They disappeared for nearly a decade, then Scott Pilgrim came out and suddenly there was a new album and it was beautiful and excellent and then they were on the Sasquatch lineup. Top five most anticipated sets of the weekend for me. If they play 'Banjo Press Conference' I will probably fall to my knees and raise my arms to the sky and scream my thanks to the heavens.

One of a small set of good things to come out of that movie.

It was used to pretty good effect in Scott Pilgrim, but I felt like it was kind of taken away from me in that moment. Once We Were Trees is a special record for me, and their cover of 'By Your Side' has huge significance for me. I didn't like it being offered up for mass consumption like that.

They played the sub pop 20th anniversary festival a few years back and put on a perfectly fine set.cant say that I knew any f their songs back then but I enjoyed them well enough. Have they not been playing shows since they out out that record last year?

Haha no, I got an iPad for Christmas and I'm not very good at going back and fixing the serious spelling mistakes I make with it.
