I'm still under 30 and I give massive shits about Primus, especially with additional dimensions. Although a late-night set would be the 1000 island in my jeans, I see the Bigfoot closing set as more likely. I don't understand why this is a bad thing because it will happen at 9:00 or 10:00 when the sun has set, and there will be far less looky-lous if it happens during a headliner.

Finally, is anyone confused by the ordering of the undercard on the Sasquatch page? Why is local hip hop higher than earl sweatshirt, azealia banks etc It's not?

I tweeted at Snack's asking if there would be any late EDM adds and he said "unlikely, but maybe" ... Pretty surprising, considering the lack of any big EDM names on the bill currently. HEY GUESS WHAT GUITARS BASS OTHER INSTRUMENTS FUCK YOU

I'm nineteen and Primus is still heavily relevant for any music fan with even the slightest interest in alternative rock/the bass guitar. At least in my experience. As far as the lineup goes, in comparison to last year, there are more names that immedietely stand out to me as acts I want to see. Which means that post-research they'll just be so many bands I want to see it's not even funny. Headliners are questionable, which everybody seems to agree with. Definitely safe bets, but I think one of Sasquatch's most consistent perks (especially in recent years) is its broad appeal, and I think they achieved that. Anyone who's seen a post from me knows that I've been carrying a torche (sorry, couldn't resist) for heavier acts and more hip hop this year, so in that respect I'm immensely pleased.

As funny as the slots on the poster are that say "GLOWSTICKS GLOWSTICKS GLOWSTICKS GLOWSTICKS GLOWSTICKS" and have pictures of the pink unicorn, I kind of wonder if those are placeholders for potential lineup additions. About half a dozen happen every single year, so I'm thinking that would make sense.

This is a total shot in the dark but maybe they've gone away from EDM acts due to Paradiso being there a month later and it now being a big deal.

That's actually a really good point. Especially with Paradiso going to 2 days this year.

Don't most DJs/EDM acts do a lot of retreading on gigs though? I mean, guys like Diplo will go every which way on any given week and have residencies in places like Las Vegas. I'm sure Snack's could get them to go up there twice...

I'm sure Snack's could get them to go up there twice... AZ is not the curator of Paradiso, so you're probably not going to get any crossovers at all between the two festivals. They are competitors, essentially, and it's quite possible that as the Paradiso festival continues to grow and thrive we will see a more scaled back offering of DJs at Sasquatch. I think AZ went a brilliant route though, and absolutely stacked the electronic based groups/bands. Great move to still get the dance crowd in there like they have been the past few years. I'm also pretty convinced that deadmau5 will be headlining Paradiso now. He's still working on his next monstrosity that he'll be touring with and Paradiso would be a great fit for it.

Hmm, so Arctic Monkeys and Japandroids both on Friday? Looks like its not going to be hippin' and hoppin' Friday after all.

But then it could be that thing like last year where all the bands just have the first day of the fest on their tour schedules.

True, I'm probably underestimating how cutthroat booking festivals is. And I definitely agree with you on the dance bookings. John Talabot and Matthew Dear had two of the best dance albums of last year IMO. They don't have the wobs or the bass but it still has those vibes. Plus Anzari & III and Disclosure are great new deep house acts. I am for sure not disappointed by the lack of shit like PL or Deadmau5. I would have gone because they were closing, but that's it.

I mean seriously, THE FUCKING PRESETS ARE PLAYING SASQUATCH
I dare you to watch this video and not want to see them afterward.
The 10 minutes or so that I caught at Coachella in 2011 was out of this world, and made me hate myself for missing most of them for fucking Kanye. This is going to be a HUGE redemption for me.

Some mild detective work (aka just going to different bands' websites and scoping out tour dates) has revealed the following so far:
Edward Sharpe - Sunday
The Lumineers - Monday The Postal Service - Monday
...and Macklemore's tour page says Friday w/Mumford & Sons, which either means he's sub-headlining for them or, much more likely, doesn't mean anything, and the "w/Mumford & Sons" part is just a product of their top billing.
My night is pretty free, (hopefully) more to come.
