Dude. Next time I am in Seattle I will go to any punk rock show with you, any time. I am way into that shit and am pissed at current representation by terrible bands like No Age and Japandroids. I am giving you permission to use force.

...and that new Kayo Dot album is the best experimental metal I've heard in the past 10 years. Bro. Listen to more experimental metal. DECENT But nothing compared to the new Kayo Dot. I am including bands like Tool and Opeth in this category of albums that are SERIOUSLY (overused) not as good as the new Kayo Dot.

The fuck is experimental metal?
The various sub-genres of the music world always make me laugh.

Wait does experimental metal include Saxophone?

You're not far off. Metal purists want only guitars and drums or whatever so when saxophones or in Kayo Dot's case violins and trumpets and woodwinds and FLUGELHORNS (a la a certain Chuckis Mangionis) come in to play it is deemed "experimental" because the ideas are outside of the regularly strict box.

Thanks for the response. That was actually quite informative. I've always loved everything about metal...except the vocals, they have just never clicked with me. Actually the vocals pretty much ruin it for me.

In that case, you will probably not like Kayo Dot.

Add Reflektor to my list.
I haven't heard and it and I'll probably only ever hear it by accident, but when I do I'll probably nod my gin-soaked whiskers sullenly and pass weary approval in spite of myself. Also: cred to maintain.

That is one HG post/rant I am not sure how to decipher. I'll just assume he has heard it and likes it. It's a good album though for the most part. I went in expecting to be bored by it, but liked it. It even opened me up more to their other stuff, which I used to be very bored by.

I have no fucking clue what I was talking about, I was just stoned and I thought it sounded funny. I still think it sounds funny. I haven't heard Reflektor, and if I ever do it will certainly be by accident -- that much was true. But I can tell you now that I'll hate it more than any previous Arcade Fire album, based on the material from the record that I have heard.
That shit's embarrassing, dudes.
