Man, everybody's raving about Mala. Is it worth checking out for a dude who's not wild about Banhart's older stuff?

Man, everybody's raving about Mala. Is it worth checking out for a dude who's not wild about Banhart's older stuff? I was not a huge fan of, nor did I plan on seeing, Banhart either. This album was a game changer for me (and my Sasquatch schedule, definitely going to see him!). Like any album, give it a couple solid listens. You might kick yourself later if you don't, especially if you do end up liking it but miss his Sasquatch set. I plan on catching Banhart- Offerman- Akron.

I would like to add
Jamaican Queens - Wormfood
I think a lot of people on here would like this album. Reminds me a bit of Nurses, and lots of other things.

I need to spend a lot more time with that album. I've only listened to the first disc so far but there is a lot more ambient than I expected, given the pattern of his last two releases. It's definitely sounding really nice though.

It won me over about a minute into the first track. I loved Similes and I love his piano work, but the ambience is something he is just so terribly good at. I've only made it through the first disc as well so far, but I was entranced by every single second of it.

Ok guys, you can do what you want I guess but I don't know what the rush is to add albums on here is about. I have a hard time wanting to add anything to my list without waiting a week or two.

I like this response a lot more than the one you had before you edited it. I'm just saying maybe get through the album at least once before you call it one of the best of the year? It obviously doesn't matter because this whole thing is for fun but it just seems silly to me.
