I'm very pleased about wristbands being shipped in advance like a professional festival. Whoa wait a minute. Sorry, I'm a little slow to hear about this one - they are actually mailing wristbands out this year? As in....no lines?

Not that Ms. Doorlopen isn't generally a reliable source, but I haven't seen that information posted anywhere but here. I was curious about the source and forgot to ask about it. Can anyone verify that?
Either way, I don't doubt they'll come up with a bounty of new and exciting lines for us to stand in.

I didn't wait at all. Sometimes if there's a big line you just keep walking and see if you can find a shorter line, and I did that about five times until I got to the wristband booth right outside the entrance, where there was no line because everyone had already waited in one of the earlier lines.

Well hoodly-hoo, Drew. We spent forty-five dollars on a twelver of Session and then drank it all up and then ate drugs in the wristband line, so who REALLY did it the right way?

Well, this year we've decided to camp Thursday night (hurray!), so I plan on hauling ass to that wristband line if need be on Friday morning. Unless of course I can pick them up on Thursday, though I assume that's not possible?

It IS possible, and that is the mistake we all made last year. We were so busy gooning around looking for Fig and weenie that we straight neglected to hit the wristband line on Thursday night.
Also: camping on Thursday night is the main shitt.

I'm assuming Ro inferred that info from the same place I did: the confirmation after purchasing. It said something along the lines of "wristbands will be mailed out in April." But if they don't send our actual wristbands and we have to wait in a line again, I highly suggest hitting it up on Thurs. night. That's what our group did after throwing up our tents and chugging those first few drinks. Absolutely no wait, we just walked right up and then went to party at the Red Bull truck. Best decision all weekend.

I bought mine a couple weeks ago and I could get delivery, so either ticketmaster or that person, or both, were on crack at the time. I would love it if they would mail wristbands, and the new $10 delivery charge via UPS makes me think that is what is going to happen. They never needed UPS before because if the ticket didn't show up then they just mailed you a new one, which is not as easy with wristbands.

They never needed UPS before because if the ticket didn't show up then they just mailed you a new one, which is not as easy with wristbands. I tried this on Thursday. Half of our camp got them, my friend and I tried later in the evening and were denied. "I don't know who you heard that from but tickets aren't distributed until tomorrow." ANYWAY, in the details on Live Nation/Ticketmaster ticketing site: "Please note Your 4 day Sasquatch Festival Pass is inclusive of general camping and day parking, no fees will be added on top except for shipping costs which will be charged per order. If you choose to upgrade to Premier, Terrace or Bigfoot camping, or Star parking, there will be an additional charge and separate ticket for those options. The Sasquatch Festival Pass will be a wristband that will be shipped to you in advance of the festival beginning in April 2013. Keep your receipt and order confirmation in a safe place, this will help you should you need to contact Ticketmaster regarding your order. When you receive your wristband, keep that very secure and do not tamper with it in anyway. Wristbands are non-transferable, non exchangeable and cannot be replaced. You will need your wristband to access the camping and parking areas. More information can be found at www.sasquatchfestival.com ."

I find the decision of shipping wristbands the month before an interesting one for the fest. We all know much of the "success" of the last few years of sold out Sasquatches has been entirely because of scalped tickets. But now that wristbands won't be shipped 'til early April, I wonder if that will change the normal rush of people trying to secure their [hard copy] tickets earlier on when the festival first "sells out?" And perhaps this will ultimately damage the amount of scalped sales that often happen at that time, making them even cheaper to get closer to the fest when they're trying to unload excess product.
Or maybe it won't change things a bit.
All I know is, I don't like the idea of buying something from someone (face value reseller or scalper) that I then have to wait a couple months for them to pass it onto me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. And it's not like this is Coachella here, where the demand is great enough to make me put that reservation aside.

Coachella tickets/wristbands don't ship unill a month or two before the fest but that doesn't stop scalpers from putting tickets on stubhub a day after the thing sells out.
^I wrote that before reading your last paragraph, but I guess it still applies, sorta. OK not at all. But holding backspace when this drunk is too much effort.
Regardless, Sasquatch doesn't sell out in a day so scalped tickets shouldn't go for much more than face even in the most desperate of times (after sell out). The regulars all know this, but for lurkers; if it sells out, just calm the fuck down and wait until people are selling ticket for face value. Trust me, it will happen.
Unless we get Daft Punk, then all bets are off.

You're protected if you buy on stubhub. Not on craigslist or whatever, sure, but it'll still happen.
