Actually now that I think about it the reverse is more common. Bands fly INTO Seattle, then do Vancouver, down to Portland, etc, but the way you described happens also.

Snacks has some people he is adding. Maybe he just hasn't closed the deal with Foals yet. How do you know he is adding people? Has he said this somewhere?

Are you people who keep talking about how we have less acts this year including last year's Maine Stage acts? Because they could have just taken that piece of shit away, and spread the regionally-diverse hip-hop across the other, less intrusive stages.

the maine stage isn't going anywhere, it would be a waste of money spent to trash it now...They were already clearing a spot for it in 2011, 2012 was an experiment, this year it will be shifted and considerations for the noise pollution will be made...

That makes sense...I just don't see them taking a step back, as the trend towards a smaller fourth stage/hip-hop exclusive has been coming for a couple years and finally implemented last year...It pulled in good audiences and was a fun/unique stage to see acts...Sol's performance in particular was a lot of fun...

Constant jokes about Katie Kate were made. Also a good chunk of Todd Barry's set was commenting about how awful it was.

I saw a few acts there and had fun at each, the crowds were pretty full each time...Wasn't at the comedian who started the "lynch mob", so I didn't really hear anyone bitch about it except on the boards, after the show...I feel that with some changes, it could be a welcome addition...

The way I see it is right now they have way too many hip hop artists on the lineup for there to not be a Maine Stage again, otherwise the other three stages would be over-saturated with that genre, given that this is an alternative-based festival. I don't know how they'd change the orientation of the Maine Stage to cut down on the noise pollution with the Bigfoot stage and Banana Shack in relatively close proximity. Most if not all of the acts on the Maine are very bass-heavy and that noise is going to bleed over into other areas no matter what.

The Maine Stage will become a silent stage where everyone in the crowd gets a pair of wireless headphones.
