I try not to use the word hipster in a derogatory sense (or at all), but that's damn near the hipsterest of hipster mentalities.
"I was into the Postal Service before they were announced for Lolla".
Who cares how many shows they are playing? You should look forward to a show for the music and not for how exclusive hearing that music will be.
That said, I'd probably be pissed if I was going to more than one festival they were headlining, because they only have 12 songs, so you know it's going to be the exact same set at each show.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'll still stick around to watch their show but I'm not going to be anywhere near as hyped up about it knowing that hundreds of thousands of people are going to see the exact same show throughout the summer.

Gonna have to agree with the new guy. So what if they're playing other festivals? We'll probably be getting the best set at the Gorge as well, so there's no reason to be complaining.

Good point. I will be there for the show, I guess it won't be as magical as I was hoping.

Festivals pay extra for exclusivity all the time because it adds another layer of excitement for a lot of people. These are festivals that would sell out regardless of if they had that exclusive act or not. Call it a hipster mentality if you so desire. I just hope Gibbard puts a lot of thought into the Sasquatch set list and adds some non-Postal Service songs that they don't play anywhere else. They have like 15-ish songs including the new ones that came out with Give Up's reissue. There's gonna be other songs because that few won't fill out a 90 minute time slot.

Call me a hipster then because I sure felt like the Beck set had an extra special feeling to it knowing that Sasquatch was the only festival who could book him--Tenacious D as well.

Yeah, you're right. I think the D were at SXSW too. Still though, it's not like they were playing every festival possible like The Postal Service are. It made it seem special in my eyes.

I had forgot about that. Those two seemed to be almost totally exclusive to Sasquatch last year (as far as festivals go) and that made their sets more highly anticipated for me. I remember comparing our 2012 lineup to the bigger festivals and being like "we got Beck, eat shit *insert festival name here*".

OSL had Beck last year. But yeah, still felt like a pretty special thing.

Are you going off of anything besides her saying that her "world tour is over"? Because A) the tumblr's not an official statement, and B) she just got back from Europe/Japan. Until I see a notice from Sasquatch I'm going to assume she's still on.

The "Tour" is over, but looking at her dates she has a few festival appearances scatterd over the summer. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
If so, then HOLY FUCK. FOURTH TIME GRIMES HAS CANCELLED A SHOW I WAS SUPPOSED TO SEE HER.
I am never going to see her.

Yeah we definitely jumped the gun on this one. Nowhere does she mention canceling dates. If you check out her tour dates, this is naturally when her "Visions" tour is supposed to end. She plays a few festivals over the summer and will be working on new music.
I WAS SAD ALL NIGHT BECAUSE YOU GUYS SCARED ME WITH THAT
