Yeah but Elvis Costello was a late add this year already. We've already had one gigantic addition to the lineup, asking for two is just getting greedy.

Plus, I feel like that James Murphy set was a once-in-a-blue-moon type thing. It was so fucking awesome I'd be surprised if it gets repeated.
Also Rusko is a pretty huge late add for some people too.

Gold Fields added. From the page code looks like a Sunday Yeti set. One band left. That keeps it in line with the final adds being "who the fuck are they?" bands. I'm honestly really surprised someone as big as Elvis Costello was added after the lineup announcement. That's definitely not the type of band I'd expect to be a late add, and possibly contributed to some people thinking the other late adds would be well known also. Gold Fields actually get a bit of radio play around here.

I kind of forgot about Rusko being a late add. He's pretty damn popular, and he always puts on a fun show, I just am less excited to see him since I've already seen him at the gorge before.

I like how Rusko was right on the forefront of the emergence of derpstep, and then apologized to everyone for being a part of it, but still to this days plays nothing but derpstep at his shows.

That's a sentiment I've heard from a lot of people who were iffy about the EDM at Sasquatch this year. Identity has taken a lot of the "dance tent kids" away from the 'squatch.

Actually Identity hasn't been back since 2011 and probably won't ever be. Paradiso has taken over as the Gorge EDM fest.

Oh really? I didn't know that! Bad turnout, or did Paradiso leech their crowds?

Which is sad, because Identity had such a more varied set of people playing. I will never go to Paradiso and I would've gone to any ID fest with the lineup they had.
Edit answer to Nick: They only went there once and the turnout was pretty decent, but maybe not enough to justify bringing a traveling festival tour though? Since they are paying for all these artists to travel across the country and play shows, maybe the gorge just cost too much to be realistic.

Pretty sure Paradiso just sort of pushed Identity aside. I'm interested to see what the lineup variety is like this year, because so far the headliners and rumored undercard are pretty dismal.

Yeah, I think USC just didn't want the competition, and it's kind of their territory. The website that leaked all of those other artists had to take them down. I think many of them made sense, but who knows. I will never go to Paradiso. How can you say "never" when this is only year 2, and we know little about this years? USC seems to be mixing it up these days. Especially with the introduction of Foundation. They book some great DJs, and I see that reflecting on their festivals. Also, they did some great things with the sound and production at the Gorge. If they can keep bringing that to the Gorge and adding to it, it'll be pretty cool.

Paradiso was A LOT of fun. Such a different experience than Sasquatch but equally as awesome in certain ways. I'm more than certain I'll end up attending this year regardless of the lineup.

I don't mean to cast any hate on USC, they're doing great for the Electronic music scene in the area. I just don't particularly like what they're brought to their festivals. It's a lot of big ravey house stuff or trance, neither of which I can get in to at all. They do have some other people I like combined with some of those, but those seem to be their focus. I only can afford 2 or 3 festivals per year and I'd rather choose something where I'd enjoy more of the music.
I'd rather bang my head against a wall for 8 hours than be forced to sit main stage at Ultra all day.

Foxygen late addition please Seeing as they just cancelled their tour because of their "creative health," I wouldn't count on it.

They bring in main stream ravey type acts to huge venues. They don't really expand past anything more than selling lots of tickets to people who want to go to a huge rave like that. Uniting Souls, Base Drop, Decibel, and other smaller labels and promoters do a lots more for the local music scene then USC.

Well there's obviously many important players in the electronic music scene, but there's no denying that USC has a positive impact on the scene. I don't like the music they bring, but it makes a lot of people happy so good for them. As more people get interested in electronic music, more people will start to like the stuff decibel and all the others do as well so it can only really have a positive effect.

I give less and less of a shit about the Postal Service being at Sasquatch with every new festival they announce they're playing at. Lollapalooza now, too. What's next, Outside Lands as well? I guess I kinda brought this on myself because back when our lineup was announced I thought they might be a special Sasquatch exclusive.

I agree scough. I have been waiting for them to come back on tour and figured this would be special with Gibbard and his ties to Seattle. Now it looks like they are just looking to play every single show possible.
