Goddamnit I'm half drunk and that is almost starting to make sense. Tomorrow at 10 can't come fast enough.

Not about those people specifically. Just in general.

...while smoking some legal joints. That shit actually almost makes sense. 2 of the most famous weed smokers doing a Washington festival after legalization And they did a song together on Willie's album last year (and he also did a track with Merle Haggard, who just happens to be wrapping up his own Canadian tour about a week before Sasquatch, and Jamey Johnson, who was at last year's fest).

Well, I totally just got sucked into the conspiracy theory rabbit hole that is the Ron Swanson Sasquatch video for the last two hours. I have to say there are quite a few "coincidences" for all the randomness that video appears to be.
Anyway, the most disturbing potential headliner (to me, at least) was from the "Gloria Robertson-Smith (deceased)" clue. About two weeks ago, Dr. Gloria R. Smith of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away, and another notable name from the same town is Jason Newsted, known for playing bass in Metallica and with Ozzy Osbourne. A quick search shows that Metallica are touring and have a show in L.A. on May 2nd. I really prefer Switch's theory that it means The Cure are playing.
I was trying to find something that would make it plausible for me to guess Prince... so if anyone can point out anything that leads there, let me know?
(I will say, I do love me a good conspiracy, and how, with enough effort and the right "perspective" on things, you can tie anything to anything else. Except for Prince, dammit.)

I was watching the video and decided to take a look at some stuff, mainly all this Gloria Robertson-Smith nonsense. I took a screen cap of the video and managed to get the painting of the woman that it refers to as "Gloria Robertson-Smith." After some cropping, I put the picture into Google reverse image search. Came up with a couple things, but it looks like the woman in the video is from a painting titled "Die rote Halskette" (translation: The Red Necklace) by German painter Sepp Hilz. I don't know what this means. Searching "The Red Necklace" brings up a novel about the French Revolution. The (German) Wikipedia page for Sepp Hilz brings up nothing of interest other than the fact that Hilz was a favourite of Hitler's and he did some work for the Third Reich. I'll keep looking, but this is probably not the clue anyways. It's just weird that they used that image in the video. The actual painting has very little documentation or information on the internet. Edit: This is the painting

You're probably right. It just seems like a weird picture to put in the video.

Thanks, it started as me trying to avoid studying and it turned into a meaningless internet scavenger hunt that had me entertained for a solid forty minutes.
I probably should have just studied.

Linkin Park will never, ever ever be at Sasquatch. This is something that I'm extremely happy about. I loathe them and their teenage angst-rock.

I've been wondering if there's any significance to the fact that it seems 107.7 in Seattle has been playing a lot more Phoenix than usual, but the fact that they're a Coachella headliner may indicate they're too expensive. I'd be just fine with that because I'm not really a fan of theirs. The only reason I even bother speculating is because the station played an abnormal amount of Postal Service songs in the days before the band announced their reunion. I've thought in the past that 107.7 has tried to drop hints at the lineup by playing certain bands more often than usual.

Phoenix is not too expensive for Sasquatch. They are headlining Coachella and Primavera, however, and we only get eight bands from Primavera and I hope they're not one of them.

I think it would be a complete waste of a headliner slot, almost as bad as Ben Harper or Kings of Leon. I'd be headed back to the campground early that day if there wasn't anything going on at other stages.

(I will say, I do love me a good conspiracy, and how, with enough effort and the right "perspective" on things, you can tie anything to anything else. Except for Prince, dammit.) If you enter a thunder closet high on mushrooms after drinking a 1/2 bottle of absinthe and you improperly shoot your stream into the gray funnel (aka back splash)----you might be seeing Purple Rain.

I'd be headed back to the campground early that day if there wasn't anything going on at other stages. I'm sort of pumped to see them at Coachella. I love two Phoenix songs (I'm sure you can guess which ones), I like a few of them, and I can't remember most of them. I just don't want them to headline both of the festivals I'm attending this year.

So, RATM could possibly play together this summer? When responding to a question regarding who would drum for the band on their upcoming tour, Geezer Butler responded, “We’re not sure yet. We don’t know because I think Brad [Wilk]‘s got commitments with Rage Against The Machine. So it’ll probably be either Tommy [Clufetos] or Brad, depending on their commitments.” consequenceofsound.net/2013/02/black-sabbath-will-tour-america-in-august/
