Mumford and Sons = pretty good on record and awesome live Strokes = Awesome on record and Pretty solid live Vampire Weekend = Sucks balls on record and sucks balls live Is it opposite day? Seriously. I feel like Womp's taste gets more inscrutable by the day.

I never want to re-live that moment. Ever. One of the worst live shows I have ever seen.

I know two years is a pretty short turnaround and I've heard that 2011 was bad, but I figured there's a chance of them being there with a new album coming out and how many times they've played before. My feelings toward the Flaming Lips are mixed, some of their stuff I really enjoy and some of it I can't stand. And I've heard very conflicting accounts of their live shows, especially from recent years.

They have usually played about every other year, but it seems like they have worn out their welcome so who knows.

I Hope you're right Stormy. What waste of ink on the poster the Flaming Lips would be. Ugh.

The Flaming Lips bring out the weird in Goldbeard. And by the "weird" I mean the "Diamond". We want them every year, trust me. This is all the information you get until the Lips play Sasquatch again.

My first Flaming Lips show was the UFO show at Sasquatch and it was amazing. I would love to see them there if Wayne can stop being a prick and just play some Flaming Lips songs. I don't want to have to be so mad at a band I used to love. So it seems likely they could be there based on the past, and if so I will keep my hopes up.

They could make up for the cake by bringing out Cake this time.

Flaming Lips are in London on the 20th and the 21st with more appearances in Sweden and Denmark and June. It would seem to me that they would keep moving east instead of coming back to Sasquatch.
Then again they have a ton of resources and have turned around for shows in a much shorter time period so who knows. But it seems unlikely in my mind.

This is essentially how I feel - the UFO show was my first Flaming Lips concert and it was incredible. Their Soft Bulletin performance was small, depressing potatoes in comparison.

They were fun last year at Rifflandia, but I think that all their gimmicks have been done to death at Sasquatch. Maybe if they brought something completely new to the table, but if it's just balloons, confetti, eyeballs and the same song list then what's the point?

I want the Flaming Lips to be on the lineup as much as Horned Gramma wants Edward Sharpe to be on the lineup.

I used to think I would never, ever get sick of seeing the Lips perform. And then it happened. Wayne has become fucking insufferable.
Truths: Zacks fucking loves the Lips, and they are on the lineup basically every other year. New album? Bank on it.

Lips were absolutely incredible in '06 but 2011... I mean, I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Please God, no.....

I'd be happy to see them on the lineup since they'll have a new record, and hopefully a new stage setup to go with it. The UFO show was what introduced me to the Flaming Lips as well, and I was blown away. I've seen them I think 5 times since then and it's been just slightly different each time. If Wayne can control his motor mouth it's guaranteed to be a blast. I remember reading something about Wayne being pissed that the cake stuff interrupted their set and caused them to not be able to finish it, since he's apparently super anal about his setlists. There was a rumor that he might not be returning to Sasquatch because of that.
