I kinda feel like the Deac has obscure philosophical objections to things like Sasquatch. He's done festivals before, but not many and not often. The Neptune is one of my favorite venues that I have been to, ever. It was beautiful. It is set up perfectly, with the bar area feeding directly into the GA floor. And those stained glass windows! Objectively they are kinda dorky, but by the end of the evening I wanted to lick them. I don't know if every artist who plays there sets up lights behind them like Dan Deacon did, but watching them flash and change color (Youtube vids have verified that this did in fact happen) was one of the coolest parts of the whole show. In terms of quantities of sheer fucking fun, that show is waaaay up on my list. I'd have to think about it more thoroughly, but it might have been the actual most fun I've ever had at a show. That whole night was one of the craziest, most insanely fucking fun nights of my entire life. I'm hoping the lineup party will be at the Neptune again. Love that fucking place.

That last lineup party sucked so hard. I'm stepping down this year.

Do I think they come cheap? No. Do I think they come cheaper than Deadmau5, or Jack White, or Massive Attack? Yes. I see your point. The one thing that make them cheaper is the fact that have a minimal amount of instruments and probably next to no light show. Edit: Never mind. I just watched the trailer for their Red Rocks show and it appears they've upped the ante from when they played Sasquatch in 2010.

We should collectively write Dan Deacon a love letter or something.

EDIT: wut? Apparently HG's Deacon night comment wasn't the last one after all. This is directed at that. Yes it was!! And it all got started marvelously with pumpkin spice coffee and Sleepaway Camp. It's the little things I tell ya. I have a feeling Death Grips will get similarly awesome. I'm not sure if Souly remembers the ride home from Deacon quite like I do, but I recall laughing my ass off and being a total fucking buffoon in the back seat of whoever's car we were in. Seriously that whole trip was so mindblowingly awesome for me. I still can't really wrap my brain around how I have so much fun every time I hang out with you guys. It's the best. Pea we were both laughing so hard in that car. At one point I think I told you to jump out and then immediately realized that you were probably going to listen so I had to try to stop you. I fucking love all of you and I'm going to see if I can make the Death Grips thing work. No promises, but I'm going to try.

Haha sounds like you guys had a great time at the Deacon show though. Any chance he could be rampantly speculated about? I don't know how often he tours. The only time I saw him was at Bumbershoot and I had no idea who he was when we saw him. Fun times though and that seems like an act right up Sasquatch's alley I honestly don't think he is right for a large festival. Part of the whole thing is this group being led by him and feeling the power of the collective and whatnot. You can't really get that level of intimacy at a large festival. When you are supposed to point to the person who is not participating in the beginning, there are going to be a couple thousand up on the hill.

Too big for the shack? I understand though if he is better not in festival setting

Not that I wouldn't love to see him there.

If there was ever a legit campground set it would have to be Deacon. He would have 25,000 people tunneling for days!

muse might be a possibility? They've announced a handful of North American tour dates ending in late April with no dates in the PNW

It added a "3" after the band name to both posts I just made and I have no idea why

/\/\ \/ 5 3
^^^ That's how we type it around here, to avoid confusing them with that other band Muse.
