I totally dig the new Daft Punk album. It is funky and sexy and kind of dorky.

Holy shit to Kanye West on SNL tonight. That track that pitchfork just posted is insane. I was worried this album would be 808s all over again. Not that 808s was bad, just not as good. But god damn that new song slays.
I try not to get hyperbolic and overreact about shit like this, but with every new album Kanye gets bigger in my mind. We're witnessing the rare thing that almost never happens in music: an artist being at the height of critical and popular reception for a sustained period of productivity. This album might be a dud, but if it's not, a six album reign of terror is pretty historic.

Maybe it sounds better recorded, but I must say I was not very impressed with Kanye's SNL jams.

I refuse to believe this is gonna be any good. Did anyone ever check out the Nervous Cop album Kill Rockstar put out like a decade ago? I may have mentioned it on here but: I got a poster when I hung out at KRS for a day and tracked it down because the cover art was kind of cool and I liked Zach Hill. One of the worst things I've ever heard. Only thing interesting about it was that it had a pre Milk Eyed Mender Joanna Newsom. Listening to a couple drummers beat out some improv is way less interesting than it seems.

I refuse to believe this is gonna be any good. I don’t really know what to expect from it. I love Janet and I love Zach though. I will be giving it a shot at least. I am unfamiliar with the other project you mentioned.

Zorch’s Cosmic Gloss EP was played a lot at my campsite throughout Sasquatch weekend. Their new album is coming out in July via Sargent House and a new single is up on their bandcamp page. zorch.bandcamp.com/album/zzoorrcchhI can’t wait for this one!

I just can't seem to get through the new National album. It really is a chore. It's like listening to someone sigh for an hour.
Pretty disappointed with the new Queens of the Stone Age album too. It's not terrible, it's just....meh. I expected more. Bummer.

It's not terrible, it's just....meh. I expected more. Bummer. The National's new album is simply amazing and beautiful. I do agree with you about the new Queens album though. It's got a couple of quirky rockers, but for the most part it's pretty slow moving.

Womp and Blacksmile: I don’t know if you have listened to ...Like Clockwork multiple times or not but it was a creeper for me. I think the album is beautiful (which is a weird adjective for a QOTSA album).

I think the album is beautiful (which is a weird adjective for a QOTSA album). I've only listened to it twice and both times were on the way to work so I was probably more pre-occupied the shitty drivers around me. I will give it a couple more close listens. Creeper albums are the best.

8 Days...
And I'll join the chorus of people talking up the new Queens album, best thing they've done since SFTD in my mind.

I know Bad Choices was talking about it but you guys really need to check out Deafheaven's album. Here is a quick list of all the reference points cited in the Pitchfork review:
Seems like there is something for everyone in there!
