Oh hey, can we delete our posts? What is the porpoise of not allowing that? I just leave smiley faces where the posts used to be anyway. You can delete posts - as is evident by Know/Wonk's 1 month long campaign of hatred against me for deleting posts.

Perfect. Only suggestion might be a brief mention of the usefulness of the "search" function. While it seems like common sense, well with some people... I'd be inclined to agree with you if our search function wasn't so awful.

2 Methods Albeit Round-About:
1. If you look in 100 Most Recent Post page, there is usually a delete button next to your post and you can delete the post that way.
2. If you view your own profile, and view your most recent posts (you can view up to 1000), then you should also be able to see a delete button next to your posts.

Thanks for the tips Ro

No problem. I don't know the porpoise of not being able to delete the post besides if someone responds without quoting you, it looks crazy.
But I also don't know the p u r p o s e of caring about that concern on a messageboard.

GIBBONS - As far as I know, and I could be wrong, when an announcement is created - it does double up in the original discussion board... hence why there are two ATTENTION: READ THIS!!!! discussions listed in the General area. Again, I could be wrong.
LUMPY - I had considered referencing the search function, but as Empty illustrated - it is pretty terrible.

Just curious- is there a way to delete the dead accounts? There are a ton of them. Maybe then people won't have usernames like johnpotato53910

There's not, but sometimes I will drop the ban hammer on an account that hasn't ever been used, so I can keep my trigger finger limber.
Note to mods: I don't actually do this.
