At least this was about 'All Star' and not 'Walkin' on the Sun'.
Because it ain't no joke when Gramma's hankerchief is soaked.

This argument is actually about Smashmouth?
I love that. So much.

Any band that writes a space jam about smokin' reefer is alright in my book.

Any band that writes a space jam about smokin' reefer is alright in my book. When I was a teenager, my uncle tried to convince that Walking on the Sun was a good song because it was about smoking weed. I didn't believe him then and I don't believe it now.

Your opinion regarding weed smoking anthems is different from mine, and is therefore invalid.

Hey now, irrationally overreacting to innocuous statements on the internet is my thing.

I am now expecting to listen to nothing but Smash Mouth in Goldbeard's car on the way to Sasquatch.

We listened to Smash Mouth's most recent album at a party a couple of weeks ago. It is the worst fucking thing in the world.

The Shrek soundtrack was an elephant graveyard of stellar artists beholden to DreamWorks records in the late 90s. Self, eels, Smash Mouth, Rufus Wainwright...
...uhhh, Baha Men...

I play the 90s station on Slacker at work all the time just to bug the damn kids these days with no sense of culture.

The music of the 90s is so much better than the music of either of the decades that have come since. Bedroom recording, digital distribution, 9/11, the faux folk revival and the utterly asinine resurgence of stylistic trends from the 80s have turned contemporary music into cultural cuspidor.

Maybe if you guys would get into an argument about 70's music, I could join in. Lots of crappy pop hits and vapid muzak. I especially like the Bay City Rollers. Or how about the Grass Roots? At least they played instruments back then.

Yeah, but the 70s also gave us the best work of Pink Floyd and The Kinks and David Bowie in the rock department, and in the singer/songwriter department were the classics from Billy Joel, Elton John, Randy Newman and Harry Nilsson. Any and all of which are better than ANYTHING produced since. The 70s also gave the world these little rascals:
