Spending my entire Coachella vacation fund on emergency surgery for my dog this morning. Oh no! Is she okay?

Rough dude. Same thing just happened to a coworker of mine except it was her "money to replace my car that was stolen" fund.
I hope your dog is alright. It sucks havibg to break the bank like that but it's hard to put a price on a friend like that.

Thanks for the concern guys, but Chaos will be ok. She has an hematoma in her ear, so basically a blood vessel popped and the thin flap of her ear swelled up like a balloon filled with blood. Nothing life threatening, just fucking expensive to fix. I guess this is love though, when you don't even give a second thought to dropping $600+ to pop a bloody ear balloon because it's just the thing to do.

Oh man my friend who likes popping zits would have creamed herself...
Annnddd I just made myself gag. And I'm not changing it so you can all gag to.
That sucks to hear, luckily everything is dirt cheap in Cali and the corn chips can be found on the ground. We'll make sure you're alright.

Three times in the last two days I've thought about a band that I was excited to see at Sasquatch only to remember a couple minutes later that they were scheduled for July.

I found out Friday that I have torn my L5S1 in half. I have had two prior surgeries on the same disc. Its pinching my spinal cord when I bend just right causing me to randomly fall. I am not allowed to walk any more. So yeah. That's making plans of sasquatch fun. Last year I was recovering from surgery and could barely function and managed to pass a kidney stone driving to Sasquatch. I will make it. If I have to crawl.

You'll get to bypass the line and get your own special viewing area. I had a friend in a wheelchair when I was younger and he able to get us good access a few shows.

You may want to consider taking a pass this year.

Went to play my Daft Punk - Homework LP, and the thing skips like crazy. I went and started looking at reviews and a lot of people say the same thing. Bad pressing or something. Love this album too. Have to send it back.

Have to send it back. That is the worst. It's happened to me a few times recently. So disappointing, I always start by thinking it's my system play three records perfectly and determine it was the new one that is warped somehow. Lame.

As Shax alluded to, once your back is fucked and you don't treat it right, it is right fucked for life.

A bit of history: I used to work as a drug and alcohol counselor. It's actually what I got my degree in. I quit about 5 years ago because I got tired of being the court's babysitter and the current model for treatment in this country is bullshit, but that's a story for another day. A bit of more recent history: Friday night there was an alcohol involved ATV accident a local girl that I shared social circles with was killed. Today: I was reading the report in the paper realized that the guy who driving one my former patients. He was court ordered for a DUI charge, but I took it easy on him because I didn't believe he really had a drinking problem. Up until just now, he was one of the examples in my mind of people who made a bad choice and got sucked into a bullshit system, and I may have been right. But, I can't shake the feeling that if I had somehow convinced him to quit anyway, that girl might still be alive. I know it's not even close to my fault, but it's still kinda fucking with me.

Cliche as it is , hindsight is always 20/20. Things always seem obvious looking back at them.
I've lost a few friends/acquaintances secondary to alcohol related accidents. Some of them had legit problems, some of them were random.
You could not have known. Life is random.
I'm sure you did your best.
Please don't beat yourself up about it.
In my experience people that recognize a problem will seek help. The others will deny a problem until something terrible happens. Some people are really good at hiding a serious issue.

Life as a wage slave. I work. I get paid. Pretty well. But my current boss is an imbecile, and the corporate world is a depressing existence. Everyday I can feel the positive energy being sucked from me, and I fear that continued exposure to this person and these conditions is going to result in permanent loss of happy face. But the sun is shining outside, and in about 90 minutes I will be one day closer to whatever comes after this...

What the fuck.
Spicy Pie is at literally dozens of places but not fucking Sasquatch? What the fuck Jive Nation.
