You still need to spend a couple minutes explaining the electronic lineup, since you said it's the best you've ever seen. Because, WONK. Coachella did away with the absurd amounts of wretched cheese from 2012, and brought some seriously talented electronic artists this year. See: Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler, Disclosure, Paul Oakenfold, Jamie XX, Simian Mobile Disco, Booka Shade, Dog Blood, Four Tet, Wolfgang Gartner, TNGHT, Beardyman, Moby, Major Lazer, The 2 Bears, Eric Prydz, Roni Size, Paul Kalkbrenner. + many more, I'm sure.

I just noticed the Evens. Pretty cool; I would not expect to see them at a festival.

Is Dog Blood so talented? Skrillex + Boys Noize? I've actually liked some Boys Noize in the past, and I haven't heard anything from Dog Blood, but on paper that seems like a disaster to me, an admittedly electronic amateur.

I see they moved Foals from Saturday to Friday...
I really hope they move a few more names on Friday and Saturday to Sunday. As it stands, Friday and Saturday are going to be ridiculous.

Boys Noize is one of the most talented producers/DJs in the game right now, and aside from DJ skills, Skrillex is actually a damn good producer with a good taste for electronic music. Nevermind the music he makes for the masses. From what I've heard about them and the few videos I've seen, they are far from the derpstep stylings Skrillex and much more on the acid house and electro house side of things. I have a feeling Boys Noize more or less takes the reigns during their shows, so it should be an insanely good time. I expect it to be one of the craziest sets of the weekend.
Here's a recorded track they put out:
and here's a live clip of them:
Kickass, hard hitting stuff, without using cheap drops as a crutch. It's definitely more of a "Boys Noize w/ Skrillex" type project than it is an equal collaboration.

I am not nearly as versed in electronic music as Pea, and I classify electronic music as either the WOMPWOMP or the trancy mellow stuff, but I will say Boys Noize is one of my favorite WOMPWOMPers. It can't be bad.

I did like that Dog Blood track. Could they close the Mainstage?

I mean, Skrillex and Boys Noize are two of the biggest names in EDM right now, but the Dog Blood name is still virtually unknown. I think Coachella could go either way with them. At this point, if anyone is going to play the main stage, it will probably be Bassnectar, but I have a feeling we won't be seeing a main stage electronic closer this year. Either they chose a different direction with things or they had someone else (cough deadmau5 cough) lined up and it also fell through last minute.

I just noticed Trash Talk hidden near the bottom line on Saturday. I'm not sure how I missed that the first 12 times I looked at the lineup. Get yer mosh on!

One last thing (yea right) about the electronic billing for this year. Shit like this that I just discovered and continue to discover as I dig through the artists. It was NOWHERE to be found in the lineup last year. This kind of deep techno is flat out fucking dark and sexy. What an awesome slap in the face to the garbage from last year.

Grinderman put on such an epic show when they came to the King Cat in Seattle. I am very jealous that you Coachella attendees get to see that! Fucking radical. Yeah, I drove up from Portland for that show. They dominated, but the crowd sucked. No rock band wants to play in front of a bunch of people standing still, except the National. I never push my way to the front, but I seriously considered it that night. Nick Cave deserves at least a handful of people losing their shit when he performs. That was a movie theater crowd.

Today is lineup dissection day, so sorry for flooding this thread. I might have just found my favorite new sugary indie pop band. Kind of a Cults/Pains of Being Pure at Heart hybrid. Cavity-inducing sweetness.
