Could you please make sure it blows our minds? See, we're trying to organize this festival and we can't afford the Creators Project.

He's gonna hone his craft all up in yo face. His craft was honed in front of the Brookstone in the Eugene Mall.

What is an "orbit" and why are you swinging it at people?

What is an "orbit" and why are you swinging it at people? This was my first thought... But then I realized that made little to no sense.

Rocksteady juggling orbitz bottles under a blacklight. That actually does make sense.

I had no idea "light shows" were a thing.

Three times in the same day a week or so ago, I saw different kids on the bus and around campus doing this stupid shit with their hands like they were David Bowie in Labyrinth -- like they were rolling little glass balls across their hands or whatever -- except there was nothing in their hands. I was like, is this a new thing the kids are doing? What the fuck is this?
And I think it was this. Practicing 'giving light shows' or what-the-fuck ever. This has to be the stupidest fad since... well, since this fucking hula hoop resurgence. In my day we used to laugh and throw garbage at people who were so far fucked that they'd rather occupy themselves with a handful of glowsticks than watch the band onstage. So I think I'll do that. I'm pretty stuck in my ways.

Did he get bored or something?

Hey so was I! He was a dumbshit, but a relatively good humored dumbshit. I certainly wasn't trying to run him off.

Yeah I liked him. He was just dumb, but not ill-natured.

I've always been a fan of light shows, especially when it's something like Bassnectar/Skrillex/ Justice /<insert other random electronic artist>. Their focus is often on the "womp" and not anything else, there's only so much head-bobbing I can take, so yeah I'm going to occupy myself with my lights, and if someone wants a light show I'll often give one, gladly... It takes a lot of work and effort to be halfway decent. Yes anyone can put light gloves on and wave their hands, but actually turning muscles and ligaments like the ones in your hands into something that you have complete control of is hard, a lot harder than I'm sure most here are ready to give credit for. Someone giving light shows, or dancing with lights are DOING IT RIGHT. Zombying out to a show is NOT DOING IT RIGHT. Yeah if its Amon Tobin, or Deadmau5, or some other artist that is more about their stage set-up oppose to just the "music" then spending your time doing nothing but watching light shows is foolish and a waste of money. When done right it's more than hands in the face, it's a dance form, attacking that is petty at best.

First sentence of the Silversun Pickups song I was listening to while reading this thread: "So much for the light show."
I love when life gets coincidental and funny like that.
