Last year we arrived around 10pm on Thursday and just ignored the yellow shirts and we parked where we wanted to. We were able to get a ton of space along the boundary of the regular camping. It gets chaotic once the sun goes down and if you just ignore the yellow shirts chances are they won't make you stop. It's not like you have anything to lose or anything (they won't kick you out).

The yellow shirts are essentially dealing with a conveyor belt of cars. They have to keep the traffic moving, so if you bitch long enough they'll eventually just give up trying to direct you. Fox's girl managed to get about 6 of our cars all in the same area after the shirts split us all into two groups for absolutely no reason at all.

If you meet with your group prior to getting into the car lineup to get into the grounds, I assume you will end up camping next to eachother, no dealing with yellow shirt bullshit?

We were split up in the car lineup. It happens, but like Pea said if you bitch long enough they just stop caring.
We are going to try to meet up with our friends who are getting there on Thursday and holding some space for us. Should be a fun adventure.

We were all lined up together, but then they randomly split off the back few of our cars to be directed to a different section. It was totally bizarre.

Did they do the weird overflow in the parking lot last year or was that just for oversoldfest 2010?

I don't think so...we were probably one of the last to arrive (around the time Death from Above was starting) and there was still tons of room behind us in the overflow area/tumor on the side of that picture.

I'm worried about the walk too, but not enough to arrive late. I want in on the main camping action! Plus, as someone mentioned above, it's hard to judge distances when you're drunk.

Also, whatever. You're at Sasquatch. You're gonna do some walking. Deal.

At Sasquatch distance is measured in beers. For example, the venue is 2 beers from where I was camped last year. 3 if someone had to stop and pee or if the line was big.

So in other words, the longer the walk, the better.
I'll never understand people's aversion to that walk. You're in the prime of your life, you are in one of the most beautiful places in the world, you can walk around with an open container, and more likely than not it is a beautiful day. Just fucking enjoy it already.

Going into Sasquatch for the first time last year was a good learning experience. Friday: walk 45 minutes complaining about how sober I was and watching thousands of other people stumbling around with smiles on their faces. Saturday, Sunday, Monday I don't remember the walk.

That grass was AWFUL in overflow last year. I assumed that every campground at the gorge had the same tall grass but apparently it was just in overflow.

If you care about the grass --- if you even notice the grass -- you are not drunk enough.
