For those of us hoping for a couple of Jam Bands showing up, the following bands will be at Summer Camp Festival in Illinois (and thus not at Sasquatch): 56 Hope Road, Alabaster Brown, Brainchild, The Bridge, Buckethead, Charley Orlando Band, Cornmeal, Dark Star Orchestra, Family Groove Company, Girl Talk, Gomez, Greensky Bluegrass, Junior Brown, Keller Williams, Les Claypool, Lotus, The Macpodz, Madahoochi, Medeski, Scofield, Martin & Wood, moe., Moonalice, Public Property, The Stretch, Toubab Krewe, U-Melt, Umphrey’s McGee, Waterstreet, The Wood Brothers consequenceofsound.net/festival-outlook/summer-camp-music-festival/There are a couple of nice, sub headliners there (IMO, Gomez, Lotus, MMW, Moe.) and for those pumped about a dance tent, girl talk is out.

Girl Talk has been listed to play Summercamp for a while know, I don't think that makes him out. He could easily play Summercamp on the 22nd and Sasquatch on the 25th. It's not like he's touring across the country in a van. Girl Talk is a one-off festival whore. Hell I'm sure LN would pay for his plane ticket to get him there.

That would be great if Girl Talk ended up doing both. The people I'm going with (and myself, too) are all girl talk fans. And my sis is a really big fan(she's in a GT coverband. How that works, exactly, I'm not sure. But they've sent him some of their recordings, and he's told them he likes it, so I guess it works all right), so I can brag about that if he plays. Like ccoult pointed out, there is more than enough time for him to possibly make an appearance. A flight from Seattle to Chicago is only a few hours(though, there'd probably be good travel time from wherever the Summercamp site is and a major airport, and the Gorge and SeaTac isn't exactly a quick trip), so, really, I mean, if he had a day or so of travel time between the two, he could easily do it, especially if the price is right.

with all the money left over from lame headliners, sasquatch could probably afford to book a GT coverband.

they're just college kids having fun. They don't take themselves seriously at all. And what is kinda not-really funny about it is, since girl talk uses samples of stuff, rather than them doing the same thing, is they play actual instruments instead. Sure, its a pretty hokey concept, but they aren't looking to be big famous musicians, or really do anything worthy of being a masterpiece or anything. They're just having fun and doing something that could possibly earn them some extra beer money.
and I happen to think girl talk is a lot of fun. Sure, he ymay not play his own instruments and whatnot, but its incredibly great music to just cut loose to. I never pop in "Feed the Animals" when I am jonesing for some beautifully composed music, but if I need something to dance too, GT always hits the spot.

Can't believe there is no Band of Horses, Gomez, AC Newman, MGMT, Portugal. The Man. Still time for additions...though not much room on my schedule.

I have a feeling that A.C. Newman will be added after his shows in the PNW this weekend. No proof, but I could see it happening.
